With Harden and, say, 45-50 games of Kawhi, that floor is pretty high. I DGAF if they flame out in the playoffs, just that they get there.

Balmer is the type who wants to stick it to the Lakers. He’ll buy every player available.

Nah I don’t believe the OKC will get a lottery pick off Clips’ pick if Balmer can do something about it.

I think the Clips tried but the Sixers came with a sweet offer, plus playing with Embiid, Maxxey, Paul thought, could get him to a ring. Personally I’d leave Kawhi’s drama too

It's hard not to feel vindictively, self-righteously satisfied at this guy having a bad time lol. Still can't believe he and Uncle engineered that crazy exit from a storied, mostly still well-run organization.

But things happen for a reason. Kawhi is old before his time as politics wreck his team, and we are overbearingly young and possibly talented, with seemingly none of them being knuckleheads.

Had to go through some things to start getting to the good shit. The Spurs' story since Kawhi left has been setting up '13 to '14, a major setback into what looks like a major comeback just ahead.

I wonder if Pop will travel to Los Angeles to chastise the Clippers fans when they start booing Kawhi?

Kawhi is a mess, but a rich one. Probably about done at this point. I don’t see him ever coming back at full strength.

He’s milked millions of dollars out of these teams and hardly played the last few years, and really never significantly in the post season. He’s truly an autistic genius. The epitome of the idiot savant.

Balmer's such a dipshit buying a team that LA will never give a shit about and then building a new arena there. Would have been way better off moving them back to San Diego or to Seattle where he could have a real fanbase.

Apparently Spurs were also interested, but had no intention of offering an injury prone 34 year old a long deal.

You guys are trying too hard in playing 4D chess with worrying about the Thunder. I will worry about the Thunder the moment the Spurs become a contender. Thunder is a loaded team but the way the cap is eventually they will lose some of those players they have once they are off the rookie contract.

As for Kawhi the media and casual fans are starting to find out that he's a toxic asset which is something we found out way back in 2018. It just took them 6 years to find out due to them slurping him back then in hopes he would become a Laker.

Uncle Dennis got his wish. Kawhi is being paid millions of dollars to live in L.A. and sit out games while being treated like a celebrity, and he hasn't done anything meaningful since he has been there.

I can't believe NBA actually featured Leonard in the NBA Tip-Off commercial they keep running and this dude isn't gonna play for months.

Hard to say tbh. Their only star player available now is Harden who has history of sulking and forcing his way out.

Beside 2025 draft pick, LAC still owes OKC other years draft pick and OKC will have more and more lottery picks from LAC. LAC has no draft picks that belong to them until 2030

He asked for the same contract as Kawhi when Kawhi got extended but he said the Clippers were low balling him something crazy so that made him mad.

Then he said eventually they did offer him the same deal as Kawhi but he felt like they would end up trading him so he asked for a no trade clause and they said no.

By the time that happened he already knew Philly was going to offer him a full 4 year max so he just decided to leave.

He tells the whole story on his podcast.

I don’t think people realize just how much Harden has fallen off. That guy isn’t leading a team anywhere but the lottery. The Clippers have some decent role players, so they might squeak into the play-in, but it’s going to be very bleak in clippers land for years to come because Balmer seems to be almost as stupid as the guy who bought the team from

Tyronn Lue

He made that mistake once. When NBA players want to play for the Clippers and don't consider them the assisted living arrangement of the NBA soon to retire, it could change there. Maybe under Balmer, maybe not.

Gotta disagree, I hope he still continues playing just enough to give them false hope come playoff time and then he has to sit again. Need to keep the Clippers from getting an injury exception and to keep the Thunder from getting a high pick to land a guy like Cooper Flagg, Ace Bailey, Dylan Harper, AJ Dybantsa, Cam Boozer, etc since they own the Clippers drafts for years.

Harden

With Powell looking like the only good bench piece.
I can't take Bones Hyland and Coffey seriously. That roster is actually really bad.
Without nephew, it would take prime Harden to get them into the play-in. Like this, they could easily end below Spurs if he's not back soon.

For sure. He's got a player option for next season and is reportedly in the best shape of his life. Former Clippers trainer suing team, says he was fired for voicing concerns over Kawhi Leonard injuries

A former trainer with the Los Angeles Clippers (https://sports.yahoo.com/nba/teams/la-clippers/) is suing the team for wrongful termination, claiming he was dismissed for raising concerns over the treatment Kawhi Leonard was receiving for his injuries.
Randy Shelton is claiming in a lawsuit that he was "fired after complaining Kawhi Leonard was being subjected to unsafe and illegal treatments for injuries," reports Chris Haynes (https://x.com/ChrisBHaynes/status/1849545974903181773).
The Clippers responded with a statement to Haynes (https://x.com/ChrisBHaynes/status/1849545974903181773), disputing the claims.

Funny enough the major crux of his trainer suing the clippers is that he and kawhi wanted 2 years to recover form his acl surgery and the clippers said absolutely not :lmao

Kawhi wanted over 700 days off between his acl surgery and the next time he played for the clippers:lmao

Ice009
10-25-2024, 05:11 PM
So it's a former trainer suing the team, not one that still works for Kawhi.

Geez, that is wild if he wanted over 2 years off. It sort of just confirms what some of us think, that being, he wants to be 100% or as close to it as possible. That was the speculation when he sat out for the Spurs - he didn't want to play until he's 100% and the Spurs told him he'd have to learn to manage it and play with pain, but he didn't want to accept that and wanted to heal it fully. Sounds like he wanted to do the same thing with the Clippers.
