One of my favorite Spurs. He was a huge part of what made 2017-2018 such a fun year despite the Kawhi BS. The team sorely needs a guy like Gay was back then.

Was one of my favorite non-Spurs before he was a Spur. Would love an archetype like his on the roster, but they don't come around too often, which is what makes them special.
Thanks for the memories, Rudy.

Hmm... When I first saw the announcement, I thought it said that he had. Maybe it was a Spurs page in my Facebook feed saying something like it.

Would be shocked if he didn't retire as a Grizz or King... but seems more likely he just retires as a free agent :lol - love Rudy but not sure he's good enough for anyone to care what he retires as

if he was going to go sign a one-day somewhere, i'd imagine it would be with the grizzlies

Rudy did say he was a Spur for life right after signing. That's why it didn't trigger any warning when I thought I saw he retired as a Spur. Now reading his article in the Players Tribune, it seems like Memphis is the highest one of his list. I think SA might be two because he got to play with DeMar and Gasol again. I imagine it would be something like
Memphis

San Antonio

Toronto

Sacramento

He'll always be a Spur for life to me... unless he goes all Robert Horry and starts talking wild shit about the franchise at every opportunity. That kind of behavior is reserved for us fans.

I wish him well. The guy really showed up for the Spurs. I wish he could have had a chance to be on a contending team for a real shot at the Championship, but all that went to shit with the Kawhi stuff.

Rudy had some bad luck with getting injured or being on bad teams and just as Memphis was getting good they traded him to Toronto who traded him to Sacramento. Then he signed with SA and the Kawhi situation happened, he never really got a chance to make a name in the playoff. He played hard every night and had a good attitude in San Antonio, he was a trooper for us.

A great player who had a long and successful career in the L.
Will always remember how ridiculously over powered he and OJ Mayo were on NBK 2K7. You could murder anyone with chucking 3s with them.
Great career, Rudy. Thanks for the memories.

Always liked Rudy and was really excited when we got him. Then nephew went hiding in China. One thing you gotta love about Rudy is that he's always been clutch. Dude got ice in his veins.
