So one of the things the Spurs are trying this year is to have Wemby squat as he sets screens. That makes sense from a leverage standpoint, as it's much easier for him to hold position if he drops his center of gravity. It does look like he's putting his hands on the defender more than you'd think the refs would allow. It's going to be interesting to see if they call illegal screens on his positioning as well. I think there's a rule about how wide a players feet can be set, and some of Victor's attempts are pretty wide to make room for his dropped hips. That makes sense from a leverage standpoint, as it's much easier for him to hold position if he drops his center of gravity. It does look like he's putting his hands on the defender more than you'd think the refs would allow. It's going to be interesting to see if they call illegal screens on his positioning as well. I think there's a rule about how wide a players feet can be set, and some of Victor's attempts are pretty wide to make room for his dropped hips.
