It was hyperbole but yeah, this guy has no real qualification to be in that position so in this situation it's both, he's gonna suck at this and it's a conflict of interest.

The clown is on your list you posted. I'm clowning your list of clowns appointed by your clown king, clown.
What are the qualifications for the position of Under Secretary of Agriculture for Natural Resources and Environment? Can they be found on Indeed.com?

I don't know anything about Boren, except what you posted. So, it's possible whatever experience Boren does have is what the President (or those helping him make these appointments) want him to bring to bear in that position. Just in my 5 minutes of Googling, I found he's a successful businessman whose company employs about 1,500 people and that he's interested forest management vis-a-vis preventing forest fires. Something the Western States could use about now.

I guess we'll see, if confirmed, how he does.

Everyone's a clown or an idiot to a guy who never saw his marriage falling a part while in it. I bet BlaKKKe dons clown makeup every day of the week.

Rohit Chopra is still at the CFPB

Apparently Trump can't find anybody who wants the job.

Banksters and fraudsters are pissed.

CHOPRA WAS ONE OF BIDEN’S most active foot soldiers in governance (https://www.economicliberties.us/our-work/laws-are-not-suggestions-how-the-cfpb-is-delivering-for-the-american-people/), banning and limiting junk fees across the banking industry, suing bad actors, eliminating medical debt from credit reports, and much more. During his tenure, corporate offenders returned more than $6 billion to consumers and paid more than $3.2 billion in civil penalties.

Sources tell the Prospect that Trump’s team has run into difficulty finding anyone who wants to take the job, with the directive to essentially halt all this work. Kraninger, who held the position from 2018 to 2021 and is now CEO of the Florida Bankers Association; Brian Johnson (https://www.linkedin.com/in/bcjpgp/), one of Kraninger’s top aides who now runs compliance for Capital One (which was just hit with a CFPB lawsuit (https://www.nbcnews.com/business/consumer/cfpb-sues-capital-one-cheating-customers-2-billion-interest-rcna187623) for cheating customers out of interest payments); and former Trump FDIC chair Jelena McWilliams have all been offered the job and turned it down.

A fourth candidate, former Trump Treasury official Craig Phillips (who has also worked for Morgan Stanley and BlackRock), decided to go to Freddie Mac (https://www.housingwire.com/articles/freddie-mac-hires-craig-phillips-to-handle-regulatory-and-conservatorship-affairs/) instead.

You never said what the qualifications for the position were. It's a political appointment. Are you suggesting the office of Natural Resources and Environment can be run by an administrator, through subordinate Subject Matter Experts?

1) Founded and runs a successful company.
2) Loves forest management.
3) Is a firefighter.

Not sure what qualifications you want him to have, Blake. Please elaborate.

Of course, I'm sure Presidents Biden, Obama, etc... never appointed political cronies to any of the over 1,000 Presidential appointments.

What are the qualifications for president? Pretty minimal like most elected or appointed positions. I mean, a person with a felony can't be a school teacher but you guys couldn't wait to make one your leader.

If I was hiring, I wouldn't hire someone in that position without experience other than being in court against them. You guys are OK with the kneel system.

Then RFK whenever, I give him .001% chance of confirmation.

Don't have a sense for what chance Kash Patel has, don't really know anything about him.

Ditch Mitch & Murkuntski

no reason Safe R seat senators should be not rubber stamping Agenda 47 100%.

trump should sign an EO to eliminate ranked choice voting for federal elections which include house and senate. The 10th Amendment does not mean that individual states should be allowed to have shitty election laws liked RCV that pertain to federal positions. The 10th amendment would only pertain to governor on down in the state and local levels. So Alaska can keep ranked choice voting for governor, state leg, statewide offices, mayors etc but not U.S. House and Senate. Murkuntski is a RINO and must be recalled immediately. Tshibaka won the first round and the primary fair and square.

Collins ergo gets a pass. She's a useless number for the most part but she's the best you're gonna get statewide in Maine.

Kentucky law provides that the party of the outgoing Senator picks a slate of candidates and the Governor must pick one from that slate. There is NO reason brain-damaged McConnell needs to stay.
They need to force him to retire just like they did with Biden

Lisa Murkowski was appointed by her governor daddy to the Senate

She voted with Obama 72.3% of the time in 2013

She opposed Brett Kavanaugh for SCOTUS but supported Kentanji Brown

She voted to convict Trump in his 2nd impeachment

She’s lost 2 GOP primaries and been censured by the Alaska Republican Party

She confirmed Lloyd Austin but not Pete Hegseth

Lisa Murkowski is a Democrat

Right. The GOP state Legislature picks 3 hardline MAGA candidates which accurately represent the Upper South/Trump/Vance vote and Beshear has to pick from them. Though Beshear can also try to stall and delay it.

The federal government is generally more diverse than the labor force at large, according to a December 2024 federal study (https://www.eeoc.gov/sites/default/files/2024-11/FY2021%20Annual%20Report%20Workforce%20Part%20II_f inal_508.pdf). No, it doesn't work, for either of them. Both Gabbard and Patel called for major reforms of section 702 and it was amended. You're an idiot.

"My prior concerns about FISA were based on insufficient protections for civil liberties, particularly regarding the FBI's misuse of warrantless search powers on American citizens."

"Significant FISA reforms have been enacted since my time in Congress to address these issues. If confirmed as DNI, I will uphold Americans' Fourth Amendment rights while maintaining vital national security tools like Section 702 to ensure the safety and freedom of the Americans," Gabbard said.

"Section 702, unlike other FISA authorities, is crucial for gathering foreign intelligence on non-U.S. persons abroad," she continued. "This unique capability cannot be replicated and must be safeguarded to protect our nation while ensuring the civil liberties of Americans."

Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton, chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, told ABC News that "Tulsi Gabbard has assured me in our conversations that she supports Section 702 as recently amended and that she will follow the law and support its reauthorization as DNI."

anonymously sourced =/= false there's corroboration from Hegseth's days leading charities, y'all just have really low standards or really high gullibility

Zero corroboration from CVA and 2 senior leaders and a board trustee from CVA rebutted the New Yorker story.

Have you already forgotten about the anonymously sourced NBC story you were pushing that was immediately disputed by 30+ people on the record who worked with Hegseth? Seems you are the one with really low standards or high gullibility.

Here is my take on the above developments as recounted by the acting Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (where I served as the General Counsel under Director Mueller). The head of the FBI recounts receiving a memo from the acting Deputy Attorney General to fire 8 senior career FBI personnel (unless they resign) and the compilation of a list of thousands of FBI personnel who worked on the J6 cases.

Firing career FBI agents without cause would violate civil service protections. If the firing is based on their oversight of J6 or Trump criminal investigations that would not constitute good cause. So, if the above is accurate (and I have no reason to think it is not) then Emil Bove (the Acting Deputy Attorney General and util recently one of Trump’s criminal defense counsel) is taking action that violates their rights.
The wording of the above is interesting— it does not say whether Bove was saying in the memo that Bove himself was firing these FBI personnel or whether Bove was directing the acting FBI Director to do so (the acting FBI Director reports to Bove). But it sounds to me like Bove sent a memo that directed the acting FBI Director to fire these 8 senior FBI personnel (“are to be terminated”), and he refused. The memo is worded in an odd passive voice, suggesting the FBI Director did NOT go along with the Bove “resign or be fired” scheme, but did pass along on what his boss, Bove, said he wanted to do to them.
The Bove memo’s direction to compile a list of over a thousand people seems to create a targeted enemies list — what possible legitimate reason is there to hold these people to heightened scrutiny? Absolutely none that I can think of, whereas it is entirely consistent with a retribution effort.
All of this is not just highly unusual — ie it has NEVER happened before — but it may well be completely illegal, and certainly appears on its face to be. And this is happening at the top of what is supposed to be our Justice Department.
If there is a lawsuit by the affected FBI personnel, it may ironically result in a trial where the facts about the righteousness of the J6 cases and the Trump criminal prosecutions is laid out for all to see - ironically, exactly what Trump has sought to keep under wraps and whitewash.

13. Have you ever received shares or other financial gifts or compensation from Trump

RESPONSE: As part of my confirmation process, I have worked with officials from the
Department of Justice and the Office of Government Ethics to prevent any conflicts of interests
and items that might give rise to the appearance of a conflict of interest during my tenure, should
I be confirmed. As part of that process, I provided itemized lists of assets and sources of income
in my OGE Form 278e. I respectfully incorporate that form here by reference and refer to in
answer to this question. I also consented to an ethics agreement, agreed to resign from positions,
and agreed to divest a number of assets where legally and ethically necessary or appropriate. I

services provided, including a monetary award and shares. Even though this represented
compensation for past services I had provided, out of an abundance of caution and to avoid any
appearance of any conflict, I did not and will not accept that compensation.
a. If so, how much were shares worth in U.S. dollars at the time of receipt, and how
much are they worth upon completing this QFR?
RESPONSE: I have never accepted compensation for serving as a board member for
Trump Media and Technology Group.
b. When specifically did you receive the most recent shares or other financial gift or
compensation from Trump Media and Technology Group (DJT) or other companies tied

persons associated with Trump Media and Technology Group (DJT) prior to receiving
your most recent receipt of shares or other financial compensation from Trump Media
and Technology Group (DJT) or other companies tied to President Trump or his family
members?
RESPONSE: Please see my response to Question 13.a.
d. Given the appearance of impropriety of receiving any financial gift or
compensation, including in the form of shares, from a company associated with President
Trump or his family, will you return these shares immediately prior to the Committee’s
vote on your confirmation?
RESPONSE: Please see my response to Question 13.a.

bribing foreign governments and corporate corruption is back on the menu, Pam Bondi just made it easier for lobbyists representing foreign countries too

The Justice Department is scaling back enforcement of laws governing foreign lobbying transparency and bribes of foreign officials, Attorney General Pam Bondi announced.

The Criminal Division’s Foreign Corrupt Practices Act unit will prioritize investigations related to foreign bribery that facilitates the criminal operations of cartels and transnational criminal organizations, such as cases that involve bribery of foreign officials to “facilitate human smuggling and the trafficking of narcotics and firearms,” Bondi said in a Wednesday memo obtained (https://aboutblaw.com/bg8D) by Bloomberg Law.

The FCPA prosecutors shall “shift focus away from investigations and cases that do not have such a connection,” she added.

Separately, Foreign Agents Registration Act enforcement “shall be limited to instances of alleged conduct similar to more traditional espionage by foreign government actors.” The Counterintelligence and Export Control Section, which houses the FARA unit, will “focus on civil enforcement, regulatory initiatives, and public guidance,” the memo said.

Also on Wednesday, Bondi disbanded (https://aboutblaw.com/bg8C) the National Security Division’s corporate enforcement unit, a high-priority initiative of Biden-era Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco, and reassigned team members to their earlier posts.

Emil Bove is purging people he led and coordinated with in the J6 investigation

In the months after the Jan. 6 attacks, a hard-charging federal prosecutor in Manhattan eagerly oversaw efforts to find and arrest Capitol rioters in the New York area, his former colleagues say, and even proposed to the Justice Department that his office should play a central role in the investigation.

His name: Emil Bove.

Bove, whose prominence soared when he was one of Donald Trump’s defense lawyers last year, is now the Trump-appointed acting deputy attorney general, essentially the chief operating officer of the Justice Department.

He has been leading an effort to identify everyone who worked on Jan. 6 cases and remedy what Trump called “a grave national injustice” by rooting out “those who acted with corrupt or partisan intent” when they investigated Trump and Capitol rioters.

Some who know Bove have been shocked by the turnabout. On Jan. 6, 2021, Bove was helping lead the counterterrorism section in the U.S. attorney’s office in Manhattan when a pro-Trump mob attacked the U.S. Capitol. Over the next several months, he worked closely with FBI agents as they hunted down suspects in the New York area.

Two former colleagues who worked alongside Bove on Jan. 6 cases in New York say they never heard him express qualms about the sprawling Capitol riot criminal investigation, which grew into the largest in American history.

“He treated these cases as a priority,” said Christopher O’Leary, who sat in meetings with Bove as a senior FBI counterterrorism agent. “In my daily interactions with him, there was never any indication of anything other than full-throated support.”

campaign donations are paying off in spades for billionaires -- they're now salting the US government with their cronies

Trumplandia is all in on scammy crypto

US President Donald Trump reportedly plans to select Brian Quintenz — the head of policy for the crypto subsidiary of venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) — as chair of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

Trump’s intention to pick Quintenz as the next head of the CFTC was revealed in a document sent by the White House to Capitol Hill, Bloomberg reported (https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-02-12/trump-plans-to-pick-quintenz-as-head-of-us-derivatives-regulator) on Feb. 12.

If Quintenz is confirmed to head the CFTC, it’s widely expected that he will push for pro-crypto policy moves and establish his agency as the primary regulator for the crypto industry over the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Where Cabinet-level appointments have a 30-hour waiting period, before the full Senate is able to take up the matter, I believe the FBI Director only has a 2 hour waiting period. Could have Director Patel in his office by the Close of Business today.

late disclosures raise questions

The missing LLCs are not the only problem with Patel’s disclosures. Investigative journalist Roger Sollenberger revealed (https://x.com/sollenbergerrc/status/1889998083133719005?s=46) this week that Patel had failed to acknowledge his financial ties to two companies connected to a specialist in off-shore banking. And Patel did not file his financial disclosure statement until two days after the Senate Judiciary Committee held his confirmation hearing. That meant senators at this session could not ask him about any of the questions his disclosures (or lack thereof) have raised. This includes questions about a payment from a Kremlin-linked source, Patel’s stake in a Chinese manufacturing firm, and money he received for “consulting” work for Qatar that he has not publicly explained.https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2025/02/kash-patel-donald-trump-fbi-confirmation-financial-disclosure-marbury-shahin/

I hope RFKJ gets to why so many kids these days are autistic. When I was growing up in the 70s, it was super rare to encounter an autistic kid. Now, every school has a classroom(s) dedicated to them.Pretty simple if you are able and attempt to understand it:

DSM-III (1980): Defined autism as a separate disorder from schizophrenia. Increased diagnosis rate above 1 in 1,400 by 1987.

DSM-IV (1994): Introduced the concept of autism spectrum; included Asperger's disorder and other related disorders. Diagnosis rate rose to 1 in 150 in early 2000s.

DSM-5 (2013): Unified autism spectrum disorder under one category. by 2016, 1 in 54 children had been diagnosed with autism by age eight.

We're still in pretty early stages of understanding autism the evolution of its diagnosis reflects that. Thinking we had it all sussed out since you were a child is just not correct. You were "encountering" them all along.

And also, why so much trans lunacy in the west.Define lunacy. We're just getting around to not automatically murdering this 1% of the population, so they'll naturally be a bit more visible than before. Now your media consumption seems to consist of a lot more than 1% trans coverage, so your panic is proportionate.

Do you somehow believe previous administrations weren't partisan in their selection of Executive staff?

Do you somehow believe previous administrations weren't partisan in their selection of Executive staff?of course not

for example, there has never been a Democrat leading the FBI

but in seriousness Yoni, we haven't had partisan purges like this since the 19th century

Why, when people like Chris Wray and James Comey will ignore your misdeeds while dragging your Republican counterparts through the mud.

Trump made mistake and paid for it.

Wray though had the decency to quit in the interim.

Buh, bye.
