Maybe it's recency bias on my part, but I love the improvement Julian has made this year. He was a firinge NBA player with a streaky shot last year. He's making the right cuts, his motion is excellent and his defense has improved immeasurably. I'm far less frustrated with him than I have ever been with Vassell.

Steph Castle was incredible in this game. Steph Curry is really hard to defend, and his shooting and offball movement has been the driving force behind the Warriors, with teams losing him as he runs around, causing breakdowns on him (open Steph 3s) or help causing a breakdown from recovering. He basically didn't lose him the whole game. Incredible defensive performance.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with Sochan / Vassell / Keldon back. I think you could get to solid by having the starting 5 stay the same, then a Tre-Vassell - Keldon - Sochan - Collins (I know, predicting what happens, not calling for Collins minutes) bench 5 should improve those minutes.

Maybe it's recency bias on my part, but I love the improvement Julian has made this year. He was a firinge NBA player with a streaky shot last year. He's making the right cuts, his motion is excellent and his defense has improved immeasurably. I'm far less frustrated with him than I have ever been with Vassell. See if that happens through normal rotations for about 20 games of Vassell coming off the bench, or if the current SL starts to regress to the mean. But don't go fixing things that aren't broke right out of the gates. Especially with a guy who struggles to stay healthy.

I didn’t like it earlier when they kept looking for 3’s. Somebody said, it’s what the defenders were giving them. Not true. I feel there wasn’t enough cutting in the 2st half and settling for 3’s. Still the defending champions shoot a ton of 3’s. Just ugly though but it’s modern NBA.

I hope the Spurs players recognize this as well. At least from the post-game comments, Wemby did. Indeed it was just painful to watch because they kept on chucking despite not hitting anything for most stretches of the game.

I hope you’re right about Vassell.
He seems to take these awkward landings regularly after certain drives to the basket, often getting caught in the air while trying to make a pass/draw a foul.
Unfortunately his body seems ill-equipped to do this consistently.




Hopefully that’s the case seeing how it’s the same knee he had surgery on in 2023. Also Vassell has been on the injury report as knee soreness while Wemby was on the injury report for a knee contusion so Idk.
