Any word on the league possibly relocating the games? Not sure if Vegas would be available. I don’t know how many more games they could possibly postpone. On the other hand, I don’t know how many of the players have homes that are at risk.

Supposedly most of the Lakers live by the practice facility in El Segundo which is kind of by LAX so a good ways from any of the fires, though I have read JJ Reddick's house was in Palisades.

They relocated a NFL game to Glendale, Arizona. I'm not sure if something like that is possible in this case.

Wonder what they will do because no way should the game pull away city personnel at a time like this. They postponed the Hornets game already.

The Lakers have four straight home games beginning Saturday that run through next Friday, while the Clippers have three straight at Intuit Dome before flying to Portland, Ore. on Thursday, Jan. 16. As of late Wednesday night, the Spurs have been in LA monitoring the situation and preparing to play.

Whether they will or won't remains to be seen. “Obviously our thoughts and prayers are for everybody and everything going on," Spurs acting coach Mitch Johnson said. “It’s a devastating situation. I know our people at the league, city officials and everything are in communication, so I’m sure they’ll tell us something. At this time, our prayers are for all those people out there. That they’re safe.”

Seems like a mistake given the air quality must be horrendous. I remember how disgusting it would get from fires in Malibu when I was living near UCLA.

The game feels like a scheduled loss, like the Lakers are gonna be super motivated to play to give the city hope, while the Spurs will be more sympathetic to them and let them win more easily.

Sounds like it's setting up to be like the first Saints game back in New Orleans after Katrina. The Saints were expected to be terrible that year, and came out and beat the Falcons 23-3, overachieved for the season, made the playoffs to many people's surprise in the conference championship game, and then went back to missing the playoffs the following year.

I was wondering why I had read Kawhi had to miss a game or so due to having to check on family/house. So Kawhi has a gameday house? I thought I read a couple of years ago that he'd fly in from wherever he lives in San Diego (not sure how far away that is from where the Clippers used to be, and where their new area is now as I don't know US geography). Does this house allow him to not have to fly in for games all the time?

Also, darn, so he wasn't looking to leave San Antonio initially? It sounds like if he was building a house, he was planning to stay. I always thought it was both he and his uncle's intention to leave. Does his mom still live in SA, or did she end up moving back to California?

Would have been interesting to see what would have happened if it didn't go so bad between Kawhi and the Spurs. DG didn't deserve to get shipped off either IMO, but he got a couple of Championships out of it, so I'm sure he doesn't regret getting moved.
