Just putting this out there. We have until the draft to get it up to 100 pages so it becomes a reality.

Are they gonna need to add a first to Trey to get Devin?

Scott would trade #1 pick for Murphy, tbh.

I wish. He’s their best young player outside of Zion and he’s locked up on a good 4-year deal (only due $6M more than Vassell is over the next 4 years). He ain’t goin anywhere imo but would be fucking rad to Land him tbh.

Pelicans are actually in the best position out of all the tanking teams, imo.
Yeah, Ainge has a stockpile of assets, but there's nothing but Markkanen on that roster.
Too bad DJ got injured, DJ/Hawkins/Murphy/Herb/Missi is a solid lineup if they were healthy.
Let Ingram walk, get a pick or two for Zion and hope you land a top3 pick in the draft.
That's already a solid core with great cap situation.
If Spurs get lucky again and NOLA is also in top3, they could be interested in having two of Flagg/Bailey/Harper develop together.

ATL winning the top pick in the lottery 3 years in a row is quite a feat, but my body is ready for it.

Murphy's stats excluding his first 10 games of the season because he missed the start of the season and had to play himself into shape.

Looks like an A-tier scorer since then.
Turning 25 this summer, near-identical contract to Devin's up until 2029.
I'd honestly be tempted to make an offer that NOLA would seriously have to consider before the deadline.

Pels will be fools to trade him. Their only positive asset, IMO apart from their rookie Yves Missi. They will most likely try to trade Ingram away, get out of the luxury tax and then in the offseason, blow up their roster by trying to trade Zion, McCullum and DJM, bottom out and use the assets from the trade to build up. They will hold on to Murphy though along with Herb Jones and Missi, who will be their young core.

and you forgot CJ. They are well positioned to retool with all that talent / decent contracts.

I threw out Vassell + 3 FRPs maybe two months ago and was told I was an idiot
This man can ball.
He'll never be a Spur other than in NBA2K... but yeah, I'd offer Devin + ATL25 + SA25 + one more pick today. Or wait until we land pick #2 after NOLA gets #1 and dangle that for him in the offseason.

That’s a lot to offer for a guy just starting to look good. I admit I haven’t been watching super close but that’s what you give up for an all star.
Is this guy that good?

He passes the eye test. His issue last season was that they had too many wings and he was stuck behind Ingram.
Reminds me of a young PG24, tbh.
It's not like he suddenly became a great shooter or something, his percentages are around the same, it's just that he's showing he can do it on a way higher usage.
And that contract will be one of the best in the league.
As someone said, he's basically what we hoped would be Devin's best case scenario and 6'8 on top of that.

Since Brian wrong can’t draft you may as well give up vassell and first

It might sound crazy to say, but Murphy might command more in return than an actual All-Star because he is not an on-ball player and is on a very friendly contract for the next 4 seasons (25/27/29/31M). Mikal Bridges might be a good comp in terms of asking price.

He's had pretty similar efficiency over the last couple of years, but this year he has been put more into a role that really takes advantage of his ability. It's definitely a lot to give up, and I agree that is an All-Star package, but that's how strongly I believe he will be a star. In a redraft, I'm taking him #2 or #3 behind Cade and maybe Mobley and that's it. (And of course, if I were GM of the Spurs I'd try to get him cheaper, but I'd be willing to pay a lot, in no small part due to how good his contract is going to age).
Anyway, I kind of like NOP and hope they get some better luck. I've said this before, but if we don't get Flagg I kind of hope they do. Their fans deserve better, and a DJM/CJ/Herb/Trey/Flagg/Missi team would be a fun one.

I have the same feeling about TMIII as you, Scott. I could see him as a major part of a championship team.
I'd greatly prefer him to Cam Johnson. TMIII can score with the best of them and his versatility on both sides of the ball is enviable in a young player.

Well, no shit, but it is highly unlikely that the Pelicans trade him. If they do, it would be for some Godfather kind of offer. Something like both our picks from this upcoming draft, Vassell, Sochan and a couple more first rounders. Would Spurs fans be ok with doing something like that?

Would be traded to the lakers for a second round pick, then revealed the pels only talked to the lakers because they particularly value that specific SRP and the financial flexibility that it brings.
