So back to Firefox as my main browser for the first time in 15 years. God google is dogshit now. Nice to go back to watching youtube without ads again and not having a bunch of crypto scams pushed on me via google.

You can just reactivate uBlock in Chrome extensions, it's a scare tactic for now tbh. But fck Google, their entire product line is sht (Google Assistant, Google Home, Pixel). I'm getting rid of everything once it croaks.

It already stopped working on youtube a month and a half ago and uBlock Origin already said they're not going to bother trying to get around Chrome's bullshit in future updates while everything works great in Firefox. Google's already in the enshittification phase for their entire product stack so it was easy to dump Chrome. I don't know how anyone can use the web without uBlock Origin, the naked web reminds me of Frito Pendejo's TV in Idiocracy.

Do you think Firefox would work with my 20 year old hp desktop? I've been running Chrome, but can no longer run YouTube in it.
I'm a feared to install another browser for fear it'll be the end of this CPU.

IDK is the cpu like a Core 2 Duo or is it some crap Celeron? If it's a Core 2 Duo you probably have enough cpu power that a cheap RAM upgrade and maybe a $50 SSD would have you watching Pornhub fine. Chrome is super memory intensive, especially when watching video, though to be honest Firefox ain't light on it either. Might want to check for used office PCs too. I always see gaming youtubers buying them for $100 and slapping a graphics card in it to make a half decent gaming computer. Anything with an i5 from around 2011 or newer would probably still be pretty good for reading email and jerking off, though I'd want to buy 16GB of RAM at least, especially with RAM still pretty cheap (at least it was last time I checked a few months ago). Or might as well aim for 2014 or newer i5 or up since I doubt it would cost much more.

Thanks, bum.
Good food for thought.

sons I used Chrome for about 15 minutes in the early 10s and went running back to Firefox. I used Netscape until AOL skullfucked its corpse into oblivion in the early aughts, and have pretty much been on Firefox since. The more people to ditch google's shitty software, the better tbqhwy

Chrome hooked me when they put each tab in its own process so one shitty flash movie wouldn't crash the entire browser. Now with that shit gone I just kept it out of habit until I could no longer block ads.

uBlock Origin still works on Opera. Its built in VPN can be handy when you don't have a dedicated one loaded up.
