And as long as the NBA has Andrew Bogut (http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20051204/capt.wimg10412040321.magic_bucks_wimg104.jpg)...Th e Vlade flops are in good hands...Was that Sasha “all 120lbs of him” that knocked the 7 footer down twice? Smush Parker is playing great. Props to him for making the best of his opportunity. He's an excellent defender with long reach and he can flat-out sky.

I still think he sucks.

Players can put up numbers on a bad team and it doesn't make them good players.

Someone has to put up stats.

No.

He's 10th in the league in steals.

I think he's a scrub - a borderline NBA player. And I don't think he's a long term solution at point guard if the Lakers want to win. He puts up some decent stats on that team though. And like I said before, I hope he proves me wrong and lasts in the league for a long time. By all accounts he's a good guy and a hardworker.

The game before Bucks against Charlotte :
6 pt (2-6) , 0 ast and 4 turnover.
Smush is an average player.

Did anyone see the interview he did on ESPN yesterday? He was so monotone and had very boring short answers. Really needs to learn how to talk to the media.

I haven't paid any attention to Smuch lately, but I caught him in a couple of early Nov games, and he looked damn good. In comparision, I think Beno as a Laker would have hard time matching Smush's results.

Whatever, Lakers are marginalized for a couple years.

Bad players put up great numbers on bad teams.

Ala Ron Mercer on the Bulls a few years ago.

Go tell someone who cares about Smush Parker.

Smush is playing good. Its hard to tell whether he will turn into an established good NBA player. Its looks good so far though. Its better than having some hyped up player coming into the league and then becomes a bust.

I liked Smush's play when he was briefly with the Pistons. He'd probably be doing even more this year if he could somehow pry the ball out of that shot jacker Kobe's hands.

Smush reminds me of John Starks. Not necessarily his style but by the way he's worked hard to get to where he is. They are about the same height. Starks was more of a small, scoring 2, while Smush a scoring 1. Nobody thought he could achieve but he kept after it. Both have gotten an opportunity from great coaches.

Very much like Starks, I see Smush as a guy who takes some talent and mixes it with opportunity, with effort and resolve to get where he is. Even the Spurs looked at Starks in their training camp but the development and maturity wasn't there yet. Smush is a work in progress. His time in Europe probably helped him. Smush is in a good place and he's developed into a nice player.

I have nothing against Smush (he has a cool name), other than the fact that he's a Laker. However Bragging about inflated numbers, and him taking 17 games to get there is another thing. I will say that he has been better than expected for them.

SenorSpur

Though, I've only seen him a couple of times, I think Smush is and can be a good, steady player in this league. It's a shame he's unable to truly run the offense because he's playing next to a serial ballhog (Kobe).

ShoogarBear
12-07-2005, 06:25 PM
Fact is, right now Smush is making lots of us look dumb. Props.

That he is a Laker only makes it worse.

On the other hand, if he was the real real real deal (i.e., Chris Paul), you would expect the Lakers to be a lot better than they are, and Kobe wouldn't be jacking up 30 shots a night.

Horry For 3!

Smush Parker is inconsistent. He'll have some good games but most of the time he sucks.

No matter what Fisher does he will never be a spur....it's probably illegal in San Antonio now...and if it's not it should be. I hate him

Smush is an okay player...he's pretty nice in person...I mean he signed a program for a Spurs fan even though he was on the Suns at the time...that's pretty nice eh?

Nice list. To be complete, there should be a correction to include the number of shots that resulted in FTA and not a FGA. I suspect the ratio of Iverson, Manu, LeBron, and Kobe would be a lot lower.
