Ran into Derrick White last night at a bar in Southtown. He was watching the NCAA tourney games with a Celtics staffer. Told him to take it easy on us tonight as he was leaving. Seems like a pretty chill guy tbh. Very reserved (unsurprisingly).

How do you airball a wide open 3pt attempt from the top of the key? :lol
Actually not an airball, but a backboard shot, even worse.

Two posts quarter, must be a new record.
One of which was a complaint about tip-off time. :lol

since DST in the US 2 weeks ago, every game thread has had it wrong except once, I believe. if people are going to pretend to have passports and post riga time in the thread title, they should bother to get it right.
Can we trade Vassell and a washing machine for White?

I shall not tolerate this slander because every game thread I opened had the correct time!
Castle can get to the rim even agains the Celtics, he'll be a bully next season.

Celtics are half-assing it, but Spurs have been playing fairly well.

Vassell was two-handed shoved in the back jumping for a loose ball, forcing him to mishandle out of bounds. Shockingly to me he was going to accept it and say nothing until the ref made a late call on the foul.
Spurs need to find some players (and a coach) who will keep the refs honest.

Tbh, I'm enjoying amassing ammunition for my offseason hating.
Despite his statline, Jeremy obviously can't be a C, even as a backup. His offense is just awful and we need to figure something out if he's to stay.
Devin as per usual disappears against good defenses unless it's wide open shots created for him.
Keldon has been surprisingly good, kept us in the game together with Castle.

That's a dirty play from Porzingis and should be reviewed, fuck the refs.
Forearm into Jeremy's ribs while he was in the air and then pushed him off.

Vassell 4-8 3-5 3s
Castle 4-13 1-7 3s
Yeah, Castle is keeping us in it.

Castle: 5 assists
Devin: 1 assist
Castle: 4-6 FT
Devin: 0-0 FT
Devin's 3pt shooting has been great, but he's 1-4 from inside the arc because he can't get to the rim or hit difficult mid range shots and he can't find the right pass.
Can't blame Castle for being inefficent when he's doing the $30M a year scorer's job.

I don't think these in game castle vs devin debates are ever going to get old. I enjoy them more than the games themselves :rollin
Not enough that I want Devin to continue to be on this team though.
At the end of the day hopefully we end up trading Mr at the end of the day.

Mainly what I was responding to was you saying he can’t do it against good defenses, when he had an efficient good shooting first half against one of the best defenses in the league. Now, I expect “well, Boston is just half assing it”. There is literally nothing he can do where you won’t shit on him. You are a hater, and I will call that out 100%, and bring the receipts.

Your issue is that you rip the receit in half and then bring it.

This was my post.
Was it wrong? Devin made open 3s created for him and contributed nothing else.

That’s what most people in the league do. People here act like he was a busted top 3 pick. He was picked 10th, and is a damn good outcome for that pick.

Ah, now you're going to backtrack to 2020.
I never said he was a bad pick, I even always say there was no point in picking Haliburton because DJ and Derrick were still on the roster.
I'm just disappointed in Devin's stagnation.
He's exactly the same player he was three years ago and doesn't really fit the roster anymore, especially not with his contract.
Meanwhile, Spurs are doing well in this game, maybe there's something to Mitch's offense.

Mitch The Challenger Johnson at it again.
22/8 for Castle, 0 turnovers.
Solid game overall, everyone did their job other than Champagnie who couldn't hit a shot.
Respectable loss, we'll need some more of those.
B2B against the Warriors tomorrow.

If that pick then gets re-flipped for another Fox caliber player, I’m totally fine with it.

Seems like Mitch has the team playing hard against top competition, and that’s a good thing. No complaints, no notes from me on this game. Firm handshakes all around.
Orlando and Miami holding helpful pressure on Atlanta’s pick tonight. Shame Chicago lost a close one, but they’ve been playing well of late too.
