Don't matter. Even if they do Nico will trade Flagg to the Lakers for Bronny and not talk to another team about it until it happens.
We ended up with the #2 pick and I'm not convinced Flagg is all he is cracked up to be so...I'm not complaining.

I don't know how you could not be convinced by Flagg after the season he had, especially when you factor in that he should have been a senior in high school. Flagg is the best American prospect since Anthony Davis and the Texas Triangle is about to get brutal as fuck with him in Dallas.

I really hope Flagg is just the next Gordon Hayward

I think he has tremendous upside …
But the hype exceeds what we have seen.
I have heard he is a hybrid of kd/KG
Come on as good as Wemby is not sure he will be that …
Yes he was one of the better under 20 players of the last 5 years but I don’t necessarily believe he will be better than Tatum offensively and I stand by that …

What a stupid, stupid thread. Spurs were slated to select 8th or whatever it was. How can getting the 2nd pick ahead of tanking teams such as Utah, Charlotte, Philadelphia be anything other than great.

I mean we still get the #2 pick when none of us guess it could go that high. So I don’t get the point of this thread.

He shot way better than Tatum at Duke and he's a high end defender. Flagg had a 30.4 PER, he's such a well-rounded player whose only question mark coming into the season was his shooting and he took that to 38.5% from the three. To do all of that at high school age is nuts. I'll be floored if he's not an allstar by year 3.

I'm with Floyd here. We've seen a lot of guys like him who look REALLY good looking out of college, then flame out.
Anthony Davis didn't really pan out until he teamed up with LeBron.
Zion, Ayton, Wiggins, Fultz, Simmons....a lot of these "consensus" #1 picks aren't all they are cracked up to be, but you are compelled to take them at #1.

I’m all for trading down, pick a promising 3-D guy and a hell lot of draft picks.

Spurs talk: this roster is talent starved!
Also Spurs talk: Let’s trade a #2 pick for some parts and lower picks!
Never change, ST.

Seriously...it took a miracle for us to drop to #2, and people are mad now because it wasn't #1.

Only reason AD didn't pan out fully was injury. Zion had a way better season at Duke than Flagg but always was scared his weight would kill his career. Don't get me wrong, there's no way I wouldn't have drafted him #1 in 2019 and then hoped I could convince him to mix a salad or two into his diet and get him down to 250 like Moses Malone did with Barkley. Wiggins was never close to the prospect Flagg is. Fultz was a good prospect but not quite Flagg's level and you could blame injury for him too with that weird nerve issue he had in his shoulder. Ayton was a double whammy of low motor and outdated play style while Flagg is a modern PF and the fact he shored up his one weakness by becoming an excellent outside shooter tells me his motor will make him excel in the league. Flagg would have gone #1 even if he shot 28% from the three this season but the fact he wasn't satisfied to stay that player tells me very good things about the man's drive. Ayton being consensus #1 was ridiculous anyways when Doncic won a title and an MVP in Euroleague where they hate playing teenage NBA prospects. God I wanted Doncic so bad in that draft and was hoping to hell the Spurs could con Sacramento out of that #2 pick for Kawhi. Simmons is another low motor case, something I'm not concerned with in Flagg.

I'm over the moon getting pick 2 in a deep draft. Trading down to get a vet and another good prospect would work for me.

Getting the #2 pick is like coming in second place in a poker tournament. It's the second-best possible outcome but still feels bad in the moment because before the 2nd pick was revealed there was still the chance the Spurs could have gotten Flagg.

Flagg didn't look too happy when the Mavs won the lottery tbh.

Yeah, I don't think he was. I am sure when it came down to Spurs and Mavs, he wanted the Spurs. I'd say he felt like I and many of us did. He also had to have know the Spurs had the higher percentage, so I am thinking he was thinking it's going to be the Spurs when it came down to those two. I'd don't know if it's luck or rigging, but yeah, I can't fathom teams winning the lottery with such low odds. Like someone else said, though, the Spurs are actually getting favourable results, so maybe I should shut up about that.

Yeah...that was a tense moment that didn't turn our way this time.
But, #2 in a poker tournament usually still means you are in the money, and is a hell of a lot better than #8 or #9.

I think whenever there is so much talent at a position that it becomes a perceived logjam, we should all stress about it and panic and come up with trade proposals that only get back 50 cents on the dollar because by golly there being uncertainty for a month is just intolerable. The roster needs to be settled NOW before the draft and four months before training camp.
