Are ruining the best Finals in awhile imo. Game 1 was an instant classic. Game 2 was meh but this is shaping up to be a good series for a much needed change. Haven't really had a very good Finals since, imo 2016.

They're horrible. Breen peaked in the early 2000s and was already a massive downgrade when he was promoted to #1 in 2006, nineteen years ago. DEI Doris should go back to doing college basketball, and Dick?? Seriously?? How did he land that job? I was never thrilled by the Van Gundy/Mark Jackson pairing, especially Jackson, definitely yearn for the days of Marv Albert, Bob Costas, Brad Nessler, Al Michaels etc doing The Finals with actual characters like Bill Walton (RIP), Tom Tolbert, Snapper etc on the side. Heck, even scatterbrains like Hubie Brown were at least tolerable. Screw Disney and BSPN for taking this monopoly so damn long and ruining which used to be a pretty stacked deck and a now lost art.

Yep Breen in the early 2000’s was way better, he had some games on NBC

He seems to be a likable dude, but why does he laugh or sounds like he is about to laugh everytime someone scores a basket? He makes big games sound like exhibition games.

Doris is a good analyst but she talks for like 3 hours, she has no off switch button

Marv Albert is overrated btw, there I said it.
Prime Dick Stockton was better

Heck, I watched some 80s Lakers highlights during the first weeks of the pandemic - idk why :lol - and I’ll take Chick Hearn over Marv, dude was a Laker but he just loved basketball and genuinely enjoyed other teams and interviewed opponents.

It's hard to replace Bill land as the voice of the Spurs, but I'm willing to give him a chance. Needs to find his groove and come up with a few good catch phrases (but don't over do it like Reggie with his "click click" or Kenny with "it's ovahh!!!")

IMO he needs to calm down with the "I'm so young, you're so old Sean!" schtick...but also have to accept that we are entering a new era and a lot of young fans probably don't even know who Elliott is.

The only way we could adequately replace Bill Land is by hiring away Joel Meyers from the Pelicans, which shouldn't be too hard because it's the Pelicans, but the Spurs are cheap these days.

Joel and Sean paired up pretty darn well in 2001-02.

In 2002-03 it was kind of dicey because Joel was only working part time with the Spurs (50/50 with Bill, but Joel did do the Phoenix series in the playoffs that year) and Sean was working for BSPN a lot of the time that year too, so there were a lot of random pairings involving Quinn Buckner, Lance Blanks etc but we made it work.

I'd take Joel back in a heartbeat. This green dude is trash.
