Welcome back! Also, it's good to see someone else having McNeely that high on our board! I felt a Lil bit like the lone ranger..

Was watching scouting vids on Harper and my wife casually mentioned that one of his drives looked like Manu. He is fearless in the paint, is a lefty, and has a good eurostep. Also, he's really nifty around the rim in ways that remind me of TP. He finds ways to get his shot off and not be blocked and does it from below the rim.

As a Baylor fan I'm excited to see VJ develop, but Harp is going to be a solid player for a long time. Not the first time I've been excited for the next decade of the Spurs backcourt.

Solid analysis as always bro.

You think with a solid draft and good health, Our Spurs could challenge in the West or for the whole enchilada?

Not to hijack, but bro, how do I get on your good side? I choose peace and tranquility. Harmony in the name of an upcoming Spurs Championship!

Honestly I just thought it was humorous the timing of it all...but it's not just me your unrealistic ideas are kinda drawing everyone's ire...post things of value, without starting new threads, is a great start

Really really hoping we take Bryant/Coward and only if they are unavailable do we pivot to one of these centers.

i think Fleming is just a pipe dream for us fans of his

Bro, I don't start alot of new threads. The one today was my first in weeks. And I feel I'm learning from it. I want to share my ideas on the grand stage too. Is that not a privilege for all of us here? To use our best discretion. I apologize to anyone who's feathers I've ruffled. That was not my intention. Only to share and discuss what I believed were great ideas that would propel the team to new heights. I'll work to place my contributions in already open and relevant threads. But...if I got something I just gotta say to the Spurstalk world, I'm starting a new thread and not hiding it in a 38 tab older thread that many may not be clicking on anymore. Cool? Cool.

A Marcus Bryant appearance as well. Incredible. Next we’ll get blackjack and extra scout

So if this Big Board is accurate, and assuming the rest of the draft goes just as in the ESPN mock, the Spurs' pick at 14 would be...

Cedric Coward.

Wright said in his post draft press conference that they actually tried to trade up for Bryant and were surprised he was there at 14 because they had him a lot higher in their own big board.

If that’s true, that would seem to support the accuracy of this big board.

they always say shit like that. They got lucky with a decent player slipping to them at 14 and Harper falling in their laps. They punted a possible very good player at 38. They are dumbfucks.

Didn't watch along live (New Zealand work days), but Carter Bryant always made a lot of sense given the depth of creation we have and the relative weaknesses in play finishing / off ball value. The upside hope is that he's enough of a defensive playmaker to be something like a Marion who creates defensive events as a 3/4, and that's an elite player, even without on ball juice. Once it looked like Essengue was going to be gone, I was in on Bryant as the best guy at 14 (and would have Bryant higher on a Spurs specific Board).

Glad that they didn't trade up, given the cost of the Pelicans move (good god!). Think the trade of the 2nd round pick makes sense given roster composition, wanting to add a MLE Vet, probably keep the future second as a complement to adding depth in peak Wemby etc years.

Fox / Harper
Vassell / Champagnie
Castle / Keldon / Bryant
Sochan/ Barnes
Wemby / FA X?

Like most people, I'd like a C in MLE and trade Keldon / Barnes for a proper PF (or vice versa). No complaints about round 1.
