Seriously the Cup bracket is fun for bragging rights and adds a nice jolt of competition to the early drag of the reg season. Not against the idea but I don't take it too seriously as an accolade yet. Just adds another thing to fight for and gives a bit more depth and complexity to the game.

I don’t really care for it but understand what the league is trying to do. Rivalries, something to get excited about during the meaningless part of the season, increased viewership, overseas market familiarity, those uniform patches for extra apparel sales, those epilepsy inducing court designs to remind fans how lucky they’ve had it. But I wish they’d add more meaning to the cup, better playoff positions, jumping draft odds, whatever.
