Just entering his prime...this creates a real logjam at center.

Nice. At least the type of player that should be considered for the last spot.

Lol. I'd rather keep Bismack and Mamu then some of these guys but I guess they need to keep flexibility.

Mamu got a fully-guaranteed 2-year, 5.26M deal with Toronto (with a player option) while this guy will be lucky to make it past the preseason on a non-guaranteed deal.
I liked Mamu too, but we are talking apples and oranges here in terms of contract. Spurs have that money committed elsewhere.

I don't know if he is ready to go back in gleague but he would be a really nice addition for Austin. His gleague draft rights situation is also quite unclear. It seemed that Lakers was the last team to have them but do they still have them?
Potter fit with what Spurs seem to want to do offensively: having their guards (Fox/Harper/Castle) driving inside with their bigmen pulling opponents outside of the paint by being outside threats. Spurs went after Prozingis and trade for Olynyk to do that. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they ask Kornet to shoot again 3's.
I would be surprised if Spurs carry 15 players to start the season. I think they will go with only 14 to keep some space below the luxury tax threshold in case a they do later this season a trade that raise their payroll. With 14 players under contract, they will be about $8M below the threshold.

It seemed that Lakers was the last team to have them but do they still have them?I think his initial G-League rights were held by Sioux Falls via an Exhibit 10 contract with Miami, but he's been a two way player the last two seasons so I have to conclude he's just a free agent and could go to Austin if he's waived and takes the bonus from the Spurs to do so.
It would be nice to have him there as a center with Diallo while Ingram, Minix and Osifo work out which forward spot they could play.

He's big, and looks like he can rebound and even shoot the 3 pointer. Lets see what he can do in training camp. Maybe he gives one of our 2 way guys a run for the money. A spot in Austin ?

Thanks.
I'm pretty sure returning player rights expire after two seasons.

Good signing, Michael Porter should help the Spurs spread things out with his shooting ability.
