If you dont want the Spurs here, get ready for this city to be NOTHING! No pro sports franchises and it will set SA back 100yrs. I know the younger generation will relocate elsewhere because there will be nothing to get exited about in San Antonio. There will not be corporations reclocating here, and downtown will die even more than it is now. Oakland is offically a dump that noone cares about since they lost their identity with pro franchises. If having a pro team means nothing, then why is Seattle begging for a franchise and why is Las Vegas overwhelmingly glad to accept one?
San Antonio citizens arent footing the bill, tourists are. So much MIS-information from the old hats that do not like sports anyhow and want to make SA like Corpus without the beautiful ocean. I also hate when folks say lets use that money for infrastructure. YOU CANT!! It does not work that way. Also the infrastructure has to be updated downtown anyhow, why not allow the Spurs to help pay for it. Otherwise, SA will be raising taxes to fix the infrastructure on their own.
Its a no brainer, Im voting YES.

It's astonishing how many poor and middle class people will complain about their financial struggles then vote to give welfare to a group of billionaires and millionaires in order that they can pay thousands of their meager earnings to watch aforementioned millionaires play sports...
The battle for these poor sods is over before it's begun. They can't even begin to ponder what benefit there is for them and their bloodline.

Its called a business. Does Walmart or HEB contribute anything more than the Spurs do to middle and lower class in San Antonio? Do these companies profit share or repair infrastructure in San Antonio? There will always be corporate billionaires, millionaires and middle/lower class workers. ALWAYS!

I believe this argument was happening before i left s.a. in the late 80's!
S.A. was a budding major city...Austin was a sleepy town of 250,000 people and zero tech /zero skyline/zero cache...
the S.A. Alamo kunts barred any building over a certain height for lame shitty reasons or something to do with "historic" preservation or some shit...
I went to California and forgot all about it....
Came back to texas 2005 and figured id try san antonio - and felt suffocated - and noticed nothing had changed...just more people, more hatred, more small minded thinking and was ready to go back to cali...
my nephew calls me and tells me to check out austin before i leave again...
"little sleepy austin?"
took a drive and stayed a few days and the suffocation was gone and while not as nice in many ways as cali...it was at least a progressive city with some vision and open minds...and been here ever since...
Sorry to say but s.a. refuses to become a player, refuses to look forward, refuses to progress forward and this would be a great opportunity - wemby is a once in a lifetime opportunity to shine on the nation stage for a little while and san antonio needs to take chances...
but who the fuck am i kidding?

Man, I hate to say it but Im feeling the same way.
These old hats want to "Keep San Antonio Lame"
Some lady told me SA has lots to offer, she said SA "Has the Missions (NOT the baseball team either), the Alamo and the Riverwalk" These things are cool, but they are not sustainable on their own to keep people coming back to San Antonio.

Yeah, its sad...i get the cost part - but there is so much potential in funding future projects and escaping that fear/small minded trap -
and I am pretty sure most san antonians would support most projects but i just dont see it ever happening.

It's funny that the tourist taxes people are suddenly so upset about have been funding things like Mission Reach project which really added a lot of quality of life to the south side. That was in addition to the FBC.
YES is the only way to vote!
(But enough about Prop 50 in California.)

Make sure you vote YES for both propositions A and B.
Without the Spurs, San Antonio will be El Paso East, Corpus Christi North without the beautiful beach, or just a plain ol boring arse 1.7 population arse town.
Do the right thing................... YES!!
