Pay the Pelicans some cash to get Joel Meyers back.

I feel so horrible Bill Land is dying from leukemia. He's literally a big part my childhood, my teenage hood and beyond, along with the likes of Sean Elliott, Stan Kelly, and Pop, not to mention all the great players we've had. A part of me vividly remembers being 8 and 9 years old in our championship 2002-03 season when Land and Meyers split Spurs telecasts roughly 50/50 down the middle as play-by-play announcer. Before that, Joel was the clear alpha, and I think Bill getting more and more games in 2002-2003 is part of what pushed Joel to LA in 2004. But Joel still has the juice, watching some Pelicans telecasts and also a couple Saints preseason games. He's been rotting in New Orleans since 2011 since the Lakers inexplicably fired him. He deserves better. Wemby is the modern Duncan and the Spurs are going back to a legit contender fast. The Pelicans are going nowhere. Joel Meyers has been play by play announcer for 4 championship teams, two in SA and two in LA, and he won't come close there.

Bring Joel home. Joel/Sean telecasts in '01-02 made that otherwise bipolar season fun to watch, imo.

The current Spurs play by play announcer since Land retired has been absolute garbage and painful to listen to.
