It cracks me up when Whitehouse officials give Trump credit for oil prices being down because of Drill Baby Drill. The opposite is true. At 50ish oil because of oversupply it's simply not profitable to drill in many areas.

Well, he did ask opec countries to increase production, which they did. So it is drill baby drill, just not in the US and at the expense of US oil production. Trump wants low gas prices because that’s something everyone feels (and it’s deflationary tbf since it reduces transportation cost) but it has come at the expense of American jobs.

Yeah it reduces transportation costs but the supplier rarely passes those savings to the buyer. More like disinflation than deflation.
