Whom do you personally want to win?

Well, Talarico beat crock-a-shitt 78-22% in both Travis and Williamson counties, netting a 120k+ raw vote lead in Austin alone, so I'm gonna guess you voted for him.

I actually think Cornyn could lose vs Talarico. Apathy in the maga base. And Talarico has eaten decently into the moderate conservative bloc, i.e. Cornyn's base.

Two-term Republican Rep. Paula Stark (https://www.flhouse.gov/Sections/Representatives/custom/details.aspx?MemberId=4878&LegislativeTermId=91) has appeared to not qualify for re-election in House District 47, so Democrats would win back a blue seat they have long sought out.

I hope El0n Musk is as effective helping Republicans this year as he was last year in Wisconsin

Today, Chris Taylor is sworn in to replace Rebecca Bradley on the Wisconsin Supreme Court, giving liberals a 5-2 majority. As recently as 2020, conservatives had a 5-2 edge on the court, but four straight double-digit victories for liberals shifted the balance—and the court could go 6-1 next year.

Kansas voters Tuesday overwhelmingly rejected a proposal to rewrite the state constitution and elect Kansas Supreme Court justices, spiking a plan long coveted by Republicans who want more conservative rulings on issues including abortion and school funding.

About 62% of Kansans were voting “no” on the constitutional amendment with 546,640 votes counted as of 10:30 p.m.

which is also why abdul el sayed is going to lose pretty big. Even a ton of white moderates especially over 45 don't really want a Muslim senator. And a ton of the democrats especially blacks and older moderates who voted for Stevens aren't voting for him.

...of course the generation of voters who were born before 9/11 in places like Ann Arbor will vote for him by a dictator margin, but it won't be nearly enough. Mike Rogers is a very strong candidate with no scandals who lost by 19,000 votes in 2024 to an establishment juggernaut with tons of money.

Vindman loses to a progressive minnow with less than $1M in the bank

Angie Nixon, a progressive firebrand from Jacksonville who was arrested for staging a sit-in at the governor’s office to protest the state’s controversial congressional redistricting maps, defied the odds to win the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate.

She ran a come-from-behind, frugal campaign against Alex Vindman, a key witness in President Trump’s first impeachment who had a $16 million war chest, and defeated him 55-45% to go on to face Republican incumbent U.S. Sen. Ashley Moody in November.

In the governor’s race, frontrunners Byron Donalds, the President Trump-endorsed congressman from Naples, and David Jolly, a former Republican-turned-Democrat who is one of Trump’s biggest critics, both easily won their primaries and will now face off against each each other to succeed Gov. Ron DeSantis. DeSantis is term-limited from seeking a third term.

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Hallie Shoffner holds a slim lead over incumbent Republican U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton, but the race is within the statewide survey’s margin of error of 4.7%.

don't forget, August is statistically historically the worst month polling-wise, by far, for Republicans..... I'll never forget August 2016 in-person when Hillary was pretty consistently beating Trump in Georgia (HRC +4) and even in Texas (statistical tie) in polls, plus leading WI/MI/OH/PA by double digits... also polls have been absolute garbage this entire midterm primary cycle.

summer polls consistently over-sample college students and career academics who are the bluest and most progressivist of respondents who have a poor turnout tendency in the fall.

Good sign I think for the 2028 electoral college

don't hold your breath. Hobbs may win, but if she does it'll be ~1-3% tops. AZ was a big polling miss to the left in 2024, both Kamala and Gallego underperformed polling averages there by about 6%.

I'd take out a home equity loan to bet on Paxton at this point. It's the week before Labor Day and it's probably your last chance to bet against Talarico before the polls turn sharply against him and the rest of the Democrats in contested Senate seats.

still think Cooper and Ossoff win straight up but it will be way narrower than the current pre-fall polls show, i'd put strong wagers on Cooper/Ossoff to NOT "cover the spread" (i think it's -8.5 for Cooper and -9.5 for Ossoff currently) per se

Right now I currently just have bets on Ricketts beating Osborn in Nebraska. same poll

lots of undecideds and that was Cornyn not Paxton. I get it, Cornyn is more moderate, but he's also not going to turn out the base if he had won the primary, and he hasn't won in a midterm year since 2014, a full year before Trump got into politics. Midterm years are all about turnout dynamics because turnout is a given in presidential election years like 2020 and 2024. A moderate like Cornyn might actually underperform Paxton in a situation where Trump won Texas by 14% under two years ago. We'll see, but either way Talafreako is going to lose.

Right now I currently just have bets on Ricketts beating Osborn in Nebraska. A bit of a safe one I get it, but I got it for an under 70 cent moneyline and now it's like 73-74 cents and will only go up. People forget that not only the Omaha district gets to vote in Nebraska. It's still a deep red state. The western two-thirds of the state have, like, no democrats.

I just bet about $27k to win about $40k tonight on Oklahoma beating Michigan tomorrow. I can't believe the moneyline is 64/36 lmao.

They lost, but then I bet on AZ to beat the Chargers because the Chargers always have some kind of a stinker game early in the season and it was a huge value money line bet and I won that back + 3,300.

In 2022, Siena’s September Texas poll had Abbott leading Beto, 50-43, and their October poll had Abbott 52-43. He won, 55-44.

Beto led in just one public poll of that race, in November 2021, and never polled higher than 46 percent.

Trump is cratering in Texas

The Fox poll finds Trump badly upside down at 44–55—remarkable in a state he carried (https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2024/11/05/us/elections/results-texas-president.html) by 14 points in 2024. Drill down, and it’s worse: Trump’s approval is underwater with non-college voters (47–53), meaning he’s losing the working class, and Latinos (38–61). He won the latter by 55–45 (https://www.cnn.com/election/2024/exit-polls/texas/general/president/0) two years ago.

And here’s a surprise: Trump is even underwater with Republicans who don’t identify as MAGA, or “non-MAGA Republicans,” at 46–53. Why does that matter? The Fox poll sheds light here too: Only 50 percent of non-MAGA Republicans are “extremely interested” in the election, which lags behind Texas likely voters overall (62 percent), and even further behind Democrats (67 percent).

Sorry I wasn't clear I was referring specifically to Texas. Half of the ads I see from Republicans refer to "boys playing in girls sports".

I think in Texas it's enough of an issue for the fence riding simple minded folks to vote R.
