Wouldn't that be a 3 metre ladder?

Did you injure yourself, Slomo?

I'm fine just a little bruised ego, and a few other bruises too. Actually I did something you should never do and concidering the outcome was very lucky.

We had the earliest snow fall in nearly 40 years and the snow has not completely melted despite temperatures around 2-4 degrees for the last week or so. But today was the first day this month when it was actually sunny and not foggy/rainy like it has been - so I decided to install the Xmas lighting on the outside of the house. I actually had to climb on the roof of the front porch that was still covered in icy snow. As I was climbing down from there I stepped on the ladder not realizing that my sneakers were soaking wet, so when I transfered my weight on the ladder I slipped.....

Thank god for the rain and snow of the last weeks since my wifes flower bed was very soft and muddy. I did hit the border of the flower bed and the ladder itself on my way down but no vital parts were damaged or limbs broken - I'm sure I'll be very VERY sore tomorrow.

Slomo is right. If you're going to fall from a ladder make sure it's at least 12 feet, preferably 15. A 9 foot fall won't impress anyone, but if you're talking to your buddies and you say, "Yeah, I took a swan dive off a 15 foot ladder while I was putting up the Christmas lights," you sound like a tough guy.

Yeah, me too. That's probably why I never really thought about the different things that could happen.

I'm glad you didn't damage yourself too badly. I'm sure there is a "Slo-mo" joke in there somewhere. ;)

I know I wish the fall was in slow motion.

In regards to this accident and several people that I know slipped on the ice yesterday, why is it that the fastest moments of your life occur when you slip and fall? You could fall down on purpose and it won't happen in 1/10th the time it takes for you to bust your ass on ice. :lol

I'm sorry I pushed the ladder out from under you. :( You didn't, but you gave me the idea - hence the blame.
:lol

I'm fine, just bruises - tomorrow will be worse and I still have the Santa Claus climbing a light chain rope to hang. :lol

Thank you all for your (undeserved) good wishes :)
