Pierce is fairly quietly having a statistical year every bit arguebaly as good as Kobe, Wade, James, and a host of others but Bruce will "own him" as well.

I don't like Paul Pierce - nor would I classify him in the league of Kobe, TMAC, WADE or LEbron - I would put him more on par with Ricky Davis, Joe Johnson, Peja etc.

Pierce doesn't make his teammates better. I don't think he's the kind of leader you want to build a team around.

I still think that the Celtics should try hard to move him. As it is, they aren't going to be ready for contention for at least three years, and Pierce's best years are now. The Cs need to get some quality young players in return, commit to a young core, and help them grow.

Just keep him away from the foul line.

Pierce has had statistical seasons like this one before, but I don't remember it doing his team a lot of good.

i would put him right with tmac, wade and lebron. shaq doesn't call you "the truth" for no reason. when they are on, they are on and can light it up. they all also have no rings.

Shaq also says D-Rob sucks -
Paul Pierce is a good player with one focus - me me me me me. I bet he keeps his stats in his head during the game and verifies their accuracy when it is over.

Pierce has a very lethal spin move, makign it hard to padlock him on his dominant side. He will go to the line alot, no question, we just gotta keep Ricky boy under wraps as well.

I dont think the Celtics bigs can handle us, should still be an easy game.

He is not in their class yet, but he by some accounts he has improved his play and leadership this year and "is saying all the right things".

Remember also about Pierce at least in the past he has stepped up in some playoff games, his body of work is under-appreciated IMO.

That's cause those teams also featured shot king Antoine Walker....

That's cause those teams also featured shot king Antoine Walker....

"Because there ain't no 4-point shot" - Walker

The correct quotation is:

"Antoine, why do you shoot so many threes?"

"Because there are no fours."

Key matchup: Paul Pierce vs. Bruce Bowen. Despite Boston's inconsistency, Pierce is enjoying the most productive season of his career. He's averaging more than five points per game better than he did last season while shooting 49.2 percent overall and 43.9percent from the 3-point line, both career highs. In the past five games, he's averaged 30.2 points and 14.8 free-throw attempts. :wow Bowen and the Spurs limited Pierce to 20 points in the teams' previous meeting in large part because they kept him off the foul line. Pierce shot only five free throws in that game.

I just hope I don't have to listen to Tom Heinsohn on the League Pass broadcast tonight.

I read in the DimeSmack column about a possible Pierce for KG trade...that'd be interesting. I doubt it will happen now, since the Wolves are doing pretty ok right now.

I'm usually not a quote Nazi, but in this particular case it was like misquoting a Shakespearean soliloquy.
