I live about 2 miles away from Rivercenter and this is the main reason I drive all the way to Northstar, even though they basically have the same stores.

No thanks.. my property here in Bulverde is already half the size of that entire development and it's paid for :)

It really isn't unsafe in the downtown area. I walk around there all the time.

There are also twin 25-story highrise towers proposed for the downtown area.

Vidorra (renderings I posted) are 22-stories.

Those are nice looking. Their website, however, is completely useless.

Downtown is pretty safe.

Writer, where exactly are these towers in Sunset Station? I work in St. Paul Square so i'm curious. They were doing soils borings a few months ago but i think that was for the hotel tower.

Can you imagine living on the top floor and carrying a weeks worth of groceries
up from the parking garage. Or how bout a fresh Christmas tree. I guess if you
can afford the price of one, you can hire someone to do your lifting and toting.

Does this mean that Texas has to refund their big-tobacco legal settlement?

And the doorman takes care of the heavy lifting. :elephant

What is the price of those? If it's really in the $250K to $500K range I'd sooner invest in basically the same thing in a resort city. A lot of vacation destinations are now selling luxury condos in the same price range. Seems like a tough sell in a city like San Antonio where real estate is not astronomically priced.

That's very true. I have always said that 99% of the people who get hurt downtown in San Antonio were in trouble when they left home. I have never been afraid or felt unsafe walking around downtown, day or night (and I'm not "mexican" in any shape or fashion). There are random incidents where innocent people get hurt or in trouble, but they are very rare.

Is that anything like mushrooms causing forest fires? (funny Sonic commercial)

That's not exactly true..... Radiation Emitting Mexicans have actually only been shown to cause cancer in monkeys in laboratory conditions.

The towers are awesome. Good for downtown.

There are some cheap places to live downtown, but I don't know how nice they are. Probably not very. You can live reasonbly above the majestic and I think you actually get to see the shows as well, so thats a pretty sweet deal but it will probably run you more than a typical San Antonio Apartment.

Anyhow, Monte Vista kicks ass and its only a mile from downtown and central to everything else. Hell, I can walk to several bars. It rules.

How much do you pay?

$600/mo all utilities paid - it's a guest house behind a historical home, so I also don't share any walls with anyone and I have a private carport as well. It's a big one bedroom.

This could be quite a boon to San Antonio. We have re-vitalized an area of downtown Portland with high-rise condos and they sold like hotcakes. The prices skyrocketed and they're still selling.
