haha, MTV tried to be all cool and have the Kerry daughters speak at the MTV Video Music Awards this weekend.

Word from drudge is that they got booed, and when they launched into a speech promoting their father for prez, the boos got louder.

Nice. I guess this is another example of the conservative media attacking Kerry, right Dan?

They pulled a "Michael Moore", and got boo'd, huh?

Good. Keep politics out of entertainment. :)

well, I caught a little bit of the awards, and MTV was definitely promoting the "choose or lose" campaign.

the parts I saw were non-partisan and were just telling people to go vote.....for whichever candidate you choose.

a few signs had "vote or die" which was kinda hard to interpret....

i am willing to bet that the majority of the young voters, 18, 19, 20, would vote democrat, as they are easily swayed....and thus mtv's support.

Actually, the more appropriate sign would read: "Vote (it doesn't really matter but my publicist thought it would be good for my image to support this voting shit)"

the Bush daughters were on there as well from what i read, and both groups received boos about equally

So Mr. BigZak, it is your opinion that young voters vote democrat because they are easily swayed?

Then what explains why so many older voters, such as yourself, have been so easliy swayed by Bush?

IMO, both young and old voters have been had by this administration and you are living proof.

Looking for wisdom among the young is a questionable idea.

mr. opinionater, my vote is not based on who brad pitt is voting for, which is the demographic that i would assume mtv is aiming towards.

I watched. MTV was pushing to get the vote out at every opportunity, but surprisingly there was not any real favoritism shown by anyone towards either candidate. The message was basically "Vote for Something".

As for the daughters, there was a spattering of boos for the Kerry girls, but you couldn't really hear the reaction towards the Bush girls because they delivered their message via video... so the audience noise was not really a part of it. I would bet there was an equally hostile reaction to them, if not worse.

Don't forget that it was held in Miami. It might not be surprising if a sizable portion of the crowd was 'pro-Bush'...

There is noting worse than a young pessimist

unless it is an old optimist
