Sweden started against strong Slovenia much better than expected and registered a 10-0 serie with tough shots by Oluoma Nnamaka (200-F-78 ) then Slovenia responded with talented Sani Becirovic from outside and big man Rasho Nesterovic from inside so led the first quarter 18-17 with Marko Maravic's three point play.Sweden played really tough in the second period and tied the game with Oluoma Nnamaka (200-F-78 ) .Slovenia resisted with sharp shooter Jaka Lakovic but Sweden managed to lead the first half 41-39.The Scandinavians kept suprising their opponent in the beginning of the third quarter and opened the gap up to 9 points.Slovenia called a time out and started to dominate the third period especially with Beno Udrih.Marko Maravic also stepped in and Slovenia led the game 61-52 before the last quarter.Sweden resisted with Oluoma Nnamaka (200-F-78 ) again but Slovenians did not let him tie the score again and won the exciting game 78-72.If Sweden defeated Slovenia,Turkey would not be able to qualify to semis so Slovenia took the 1st place as Turkey clinched 2nd place and Sweden 3th...

Pardon me if I am not as excited about Team Slovenia's performance against Sweden.

This is not to say I always find Sweden objectionable.

After all, where would we be without...

Also, where would upper middle class white America have been without...

Then there is my favorite Swede of all time...

Recognize. This cat, the reigning King of Sweden, was the only official royalty mentioned in the Gold Club trial. Sources spotted him copping a lap dance during the 1996 Olympics.

I agree TD, the win against Turkey was newsworthy, not so in the case of the win against team Sweden.

But then again, it would have been a shame not to post that picture :p

It's good to see Rasho dominating against the weaker competition.
