Looks like the apple doesn't fall to far from the tree...

KETCHUM, Idaho (AP) -- Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry said Saturday that his daughter Vanessa has won a Fulbright scholarship to study medicine in London.

Vanessa Kerry is a 27-year-old Harvard medical student who frequently travels with her father's campaign.

According to the Fulbright Web site, about 1,000 U.S. students are awarded the federally funded fellowships each year of about 4,500 who apply. Kerry told reporters traveling with him to a long weekend vacation in Idaho that Vanessa recently found out she was one of this year's winners.

I've always believed that if you want to know what kind of a person someone is, behind the front everyone puts on that is, all you have to do is look at the success, or lack thereof, of their kids.

Kerry's daughter won a very prestigious educational award, and as a parent, I think John and Mrs. Kerry deserve a boisterous, "Way to Go!".

Sorry you can't see beyond the right wing brain washing.

So now your saying that Vannessa cheated on her medical tests, didn't do proper class time, and received a award without properly earning it?

:lol

Maybe if she was trying to get out of serving in Iraq, but since this is a British award, maybe they are just making up for passing those Niger-Saddam, obviously forged documents to Dubya?

Wow, and now someone who was just as deserving of the award but who's parents weren't a presidential candidate or can't afford to actually buy the entire school won't have the opportunity. That's wonderful.

The Fulbright isn't about getting someone to give you a free ride- its about the prestige that goes with it. If Kerry is worthy of the award, she deserves it even if she doesn't need the scholarship.

Whether or not politics played a role in her getting the award is beyond my level of interest, as is how Dubya got into Yale and Harvard.

I'm with Hook Dem, who gives a ****?

My father received a Fulbright. It's not exactly easy to get. Given that she managed to get into Harvard Med I wouldn't jump to the conculsion that she is not worthy.

However, I do fail to see the relevance this has to the presidential campaign.

I was still waiting for someone to post a picture of one of the Bush girls drunk off their ass.

Oddly enough, honor graduate or not, I can relate to them a little more.

It's commendable that she is a billionaire heiress that didn't turn out like Paris Hilton even if she WAS advantaged professionally by her connections.
