Columnist Novak Out at CNN, In at Fox

NEW YORK After 25 years at CNN cable news, columnist Robert Novak, now embroiled in the Plame/CIA leak case, will be exiting on Dec. 31, and joining Fox News.
"We appreciate his many contributions and wish him well in future endeavors," said Jon Klein, president of CNN/U.S., in a statement this morning.
The decision was said to be "mutual," but Novak said this morning that while he didn't really want to stay he also felt CNN no longer wanted him. He has been off the air since August when he stormed off a CNN set during a live interview after uttering an obscenity. He served a brief suspension and apologized for the incident but had never returned to CNN since.
Novak, 74, will keep writing his newspaper column. The news of his shift to Fox brought little surprise. He said he had been happy at CNN and was never "muzzled" there.
Klein commented today: "After 25 years of serving as a CNN commentator and program host, our colleague Bob Novak's tenure on the network will come to a close (effective 12/31). Through the years, Bob has offered incisive analysis for much of CNN's programming, including Crossfire, The Capital Gang, Inside Politics, Evans and Novak, The Novak Zone, and Novak, Hunt and Shields. Bob has also been a valued contributor to CNN's political coverage."
He was a natural for Fox all along.
