:)
steak- Just give me a big hunk of meat, some coarse ground pepper, a nice grill and about 45 minutes to off-set cook. Cullinary orgasm by the oz.
carpaccio/escargot- Some finely-sliced carpaccio (raw beef) with olive oil and a good balsamic vinegar is only topped by a dozen escargot (snail) in melted butter with heavy garlic. Anyone who can acquire (read: pay for) either of the above two for my consumption will automatically earn themselves much respect/sexual favors in return.
fried okra- I do not think you are legally allowed to serve okra any other way. Also it goes with everything....or maybe I just eat it with everything. Pass by Church's Fried Chicken with me in the car and I will physically assault you until you pull over and let me get my okra fix.
baked potato- I can turn one (or several) of these into a meal. The fact that Jason's Deli actually does so only pissed me off because I did it first goddamnit! Butter, cheese, chives, bacon- and none that artifically-produced bacon bits, I am talking real bacon, broken into pieces by hand- then you add ranch dressing, salsa, chili and whatever hot sauce you can get your hands on. When the mass of the toppings outnumbers that of the potato with at least a 2:1 ratio, you know you're headed in the right direction. The fact that this gives me the explosive shits only adds excitement to the experience.
sausage- Ignoring the unfortunately obvious double entendre, I love me some sausage! I don't care what kind of meat is used or what it is technically called. Brautwurst, knackwurst, pork, beef, vinison- it's all the same. Slap some spicy mustard on the side and I will eat it until I push away from the table out of boredom. There is a place here in Boerne called "The Dodging Duck" that serves a plate of sausage (several kinds to choose from) with spicy mustard, a dangerously soft and salty pretzel, saurkraut and a chunk of sharp cheddar. I am currently in the process of trying to get them to sponsor my life.
chicken fried steak with gravy and mashed potatos- this combines all of my favorite things: steak, gravy, carbs, and fried things. Smother the steak in white gravy and pick up some mashed potatos on the fork right before you spear your delicate little morsel of friedy goodness. Shovel into mouth as fast as possible. Worry about grunting noises later.

I have plenty of "favorite foods" .... lobster, bourbon street chicken, pineapple glazed fried pork, buffalo wings etc etc.
But I've discovered that there is only one food on earth that I love so much I feel I could live off just that if need be. My 'mana' so to speak.
and that food is:
PORK FRIED RICE aka food of the goods. :p

6. Any kind of seafood cooked any way (I don't like sushi, and I'm not that fond of oysters, but all the rest rocks)
5. Fajitas (anybody's, it's hard to mess up fajitas)
4. Spaghetti (my Mom's first, but the Butter Garlic Spaghetti from Pompeii Grill is excellent)
3. Peanut butter (Peanut butter Oreos may be the world's perfect food)
2. Ice cream (again, homemade is best, but Blue Bell is great…so is Maggie Moo's and Baskin Robbins and Marble Slab…I don't know of any BAD ice cream)
1. Pizza (homemade is better, but from Catellano's in Cibolo, which I just recently discovered, is to die for!)

Sushi? What kind? Crap, Japanese food kicks ass.
For anyone in LA, there's an amazing place called Noshi Sushi on Western & Beverley.
snow crab sushi there = best crab I've ever had
salmon sushi there = best salmon I've ever had, and I eat salmon like 1 out of every 5 dinners.
Their California Rolls, baked eel sushi, octopus sashimi, and salmon roe roll there are amazing also.
