Props to Todd Dodge and his juggernaut Southlake Carroll Dragons of the 5A Div II ilk... 63-1 run in 4 yrs and another State Title today.
Awesome today show for the storied Dragons, #2 in the mythical USA TODAY Super 25 behind the #1 Lakeland, FL Dreadnaughts(WTF? ["W" means WHY TF, I know what a dreadnaught is]).
The Dragons won over a tough Katy Tiger squad. Katy is the ONLY team to beat them in that run of 63-1 and it was in a State Championship game in 2003.
Texas HS Football on a Friday Night, the best $5.00 ticket in sports! HELL..THE BEST TICKET in sports!
I love Texas!

HS Player Watch...
WILL THOMPSON from KATY HS
5'9. 170 soaking wet
My guess is he goes to the USAFA, Westpoint, Annapolis or Div 1AA school, gains weight (he needs to) and becomes the next TIM DWIGHT (The dude from Iowa) in the NFL. Small, fast, tough and does whatever it takes to win. That kid has HUGE heart and was the Houston Area Defensive player of the yr in High School this year. By the way, when he was a mere SOPHMORE, he clinched the only victory over the Southlake Carroll Dragons in the past 4 years in the Texas Bowl. The kid is a motivator and a tough dude. No one in Texas will take him, but he will come back to haunt Tx one day...Mark my words...AS BELOW...2003 Texas 5ADivII State Game...only game Southlake Carroll has lost in 4 yrs.
2003 CLASS 5A, Division II State Championship - Ben Johnson hurled a 51-yard TD pass to a streaking Ryan Mouton down the middle of the field with 2:30 remaining and KATY won its third Texas Bowl since 1997, with a 16-15 triumph over Southlake Carroll in the Alamodome. The Dragons saw their 31-game winning streak come to an end - the longest in the largest classification in Texas since 1951. Oklahoma-bound kicker Garrett Hartley from Southlake Carroll missed a 45-yard field goal with 3:30 remaining, having entered the game 17-of-20 in field goals with a long of 54. Carroll QB Chase Daniel, who was 14-of-20 for 185 yards (14 for 90 rushing), had one last gasp but was intercepted by Will Thompson on third-and-4 from the SC 46 with 1:22 left. Just a sophomore, Thompson started the fall season on Katy's JV squad as the backup QB. James Aston, who carried 34 times for 184 yards for the Tigers, converted a crucial fourth-and-2 at the SC 37 with 1:00 remaining - rumbling three yards up the middle for the first down. Junior Aaron Luna, who carried 12 times for just 34 yards, scored from 3 yards out to give Carroll a 15-9 lead early in the fourth quarter. Both teams were tied 7-7 at halftime, although Katy had reeled off two 17-play drives, led 42-18 in first-half plays and 15:51-8:09 in time of possession. It was the first loss for Carroll in state championship play in five appearances and the first in two seasons at the 5A level. The victory for Katy was No. 200 in the memorable coaching career of Mike Johnston. Katy was No. 10 in our preseason top 25 for Class 5A.
