wanted to defeat the British. Like a bunch of them would like to see us
go down in flames now.

The Spaniards, British, French all fought a proxy wars for control of the Americas and lost, so goes for colonial nations through-out history. What was Vietnam about again? and what is Iraq about today?

Vietnam was about gaining control of the lucrative domino trade in Southeast Asia. Iraq is a venture meant to enrich ballot manufacturers.
