Assholes...

Anyone else watching Monday Night Football. I love the Christmas Day NBA Ad

KOBE AND SHAQ REUNITED. PHIL JACKSON RETURNS, ALONG WITH PAT RILEY, AS THE LAKERS AND HEAT TANGLE ON CHRISTMAS DAY.

Oh yeah, NBA Finals rematch between Spurs and Pistons too.

I predicted that Detroit would be the best in the east once again. The media is stupid for going on the Heat bandwagon.

That is because Shaq can crush people. With Wade, GP, ZO, udonis, Jason williams, Walker and all them they will be tough to beat.

The average NBA fan cares more about the Shaq-Kobe soap opera than they do about who will end up in the Finals. That's a sad fact.

I actually heard a genius on the radio this morning who said he would rather have Ron Artest on his favorite team than Tim Duncan, because Artest makes every day interesting (will he explode on the court? will he kill a fan? a teammate?), and that he'd rather have that than an endless string of "boring" wins.

That's your typical NBA fan -- a moron.

what people dont understand is that ABC and $tern could care less about the sport of basketball, what they care about is $$$$$. Since ABC and $tern can't sell basketball as a sport, they have chosen to sell it as tabloid entertainment. That's why lame ass stories that have no legs left (Kobe, Shaq, Phil) are being pimped to death. Face it people network TV caters to the stupid people that like tabloid entertainment. There arent enough real basketball fans to warrent selling the game as a sport.

The sooner you realize this the less stress you will get over silly things like ABC and $tern arent pimping the last 3 NBA champions. Of course their not, the stupid American general public doesnt give a shit about that, so why would ABC or $tern?

I gave up a long time ago trying to understand why the Spurs and TEAMS like the Pistons don't get the attention they should get. I hate to admit, but this world is in love with money.

The Kobe vs. Shaq fued sells. The Phil Jackson and Pat Riley match up sells. Two good TEAMS going at it and a very strong possible Finals preview doesn't.

Its not just in the NBA though. The Patriots don't get that much attention. The Vikings get more attention than they do. Its a sad world.

That's why there is so much crime. The world thinks money is the solution to all problems.

What the hell is wrong with you people...yes the Spurs and Pistons are playing...but the drama and excitement is all in the Lakers and Heat.
You have Shaq, a scored ex Laker taking on his nemesis Kobe, as well as his so called father figure in Phil. You have malcontents Walker and White Chocolate trying to prove their worth on a nationally televised game. You then have Wade whose amazing play is only matched by his competitive fire....plus you have Riley coming back to coach against a team where he earned his rings. The plot points are endless and for all of those who think the basketball won't be as good you seriously don't know anything.
Those teams have some of the most exciting players the NBA has to offer, and since the NBA is entertainment, I'll watch and pass on the pistons and spur games while I eat more turkey.

Plus, 1 game doesn't mean shit in the grand scheme of things. I would rather take a ring over who gets top billing.

Nah, they get nooo attention :lol

Because you know the Lakers/Heat matchup has soooooo many implications on the standings.

What I believe some of you misinformed malcontents are failing to grasp is that because Miami is the hands down, odds on favorite to win the championship this year all of their games are big games. Not only that but my sources tell me Kobe and Shaq don't like each other very much, so it's only fair that the marketing wizards at ABC play that up. Are you really going to question the network that made such instant classics as Extreme Makeover, and Barbara Walters' Annual pre-Oscars special? Quite frankly, only a fool would do such a thing.

spurs fans and pistons fans should be over this type of lack of recognition already. let them have their soap opera and pub. what can abc and the nba do when the only two teams left are the spurs and pistons to do any type of advertisement for? at least in the regular season, the lakers and heat actually have games to promote. come the post-season, they'll have to talk about the spurs and the pistons. get it? get over it.

To entertain the mass idiots of this country with sensationalism vs a good game between two of the best teams.

I like the fact that Spurs are on early. After the Spurs game, I along with most of the Midwest will turn the channel over to FOX anyway for the Bears/packers game. Great violence from the NFL or two wanna bees in a cat fight, I choose the NFL? Its not really that tough a decision.

The truth is, pick any team in the NBA you want, and it doesn't matter. I'm hear to tell you, ladies and gentleman, that no player in the NBA can compare to Shaquille O'Neal. None. Ask any player in the NBA and they know. Now, Miami has looked sporadic at times. They have looked anemic. But with a healthy Shaquille O'Neal back in the lineup? Uh-uh. You cannot sit here and tell me your team can match up with the combination of Shaquille's domination inside and Dwyane Wade's speed on the perimeter. Reality will settle in eventually.

Quite frankly, I don't even know why you knuckleheads bother.
