Has anyone here ever visted? I'm wanting to go, but I'm wondering what to expect. The following from an EN article earlier this year is making me want to go even more!

http://www.mysanantonio.com/columnists/stories/MYSA033105.2C.COLblount.poker.18e86241a.html

There are usually two or three limit Hold 'Em tables going at any one time of the $3-$6 and $5-$10 varieties, and they have always produced plenty of action on my Monday visits. There is a "Bad Beat Jackpot" (currently near $100,000) awarded in these cash games if an Aces-over-Kings full house is beaten.

Both games are extremely loose, and they often take on the "No Fold 'Em Hold 'Em" tag common in low-limit games. Even though it is correct to fold more often than it is to play it despite the stakes, it is very difficult to pry players away from their hands at the Lucky Eagle.

For example, my friend and I have both been told by the same player that
her favorite hand to play was J-2 (yuck).

That's mookie's favorite place. He says that the competition is meager and the prices excellent. Noone but bum ass drunk mexicans with their pay checks (his words).

He always wants to get people to go there. Sense lives there.

Mookie said he once played at the smallest bet hold 'em table for over 24 hours straight.

Wait a sec, am I missing out on something here? Is there a rash of dumbasses flocking to casinos to give their money away to reasonably intelligent people, such as myself, who have absolutely no affiliation to the casino?

The poker boom has made it incredibly easy to find soft games at almost any casino with a poker room. I've heard that money sticks to players with any type of poker skills up in Oklahoma's casinos. Vegas is flat out ridiculous at anything under 10/20.

This is all conjecture of course, I've yet to make my first trip. But playing online is harder than a B&M game at the same limit, and playing online and hard do not belong in the same sentence.

Slomo always goes to Vegas when he comes to the states, so this would be like the back room in some crappy bar for him. :lol

Wow. I am surrounded by casinos here in MS. Maybe I ought not to spend so much time here at SpursTalk.

:wtf

Poker is played against the other people at the casino, not the house. The house just takes a rake.

All the Kickapoo population does not lie in one casino.

As for the addiction part. Yes I am to a certain extent but I blame stupid players at casinos. I mean how can you fight it if everytime you sit down at a table people start giving you money, and waitresses in skimpy outfits bring you free alcohol beverages? Hell even Mrs. Slomo is rooting for me to go to Vegas more often :lol

In a totally unrelated story Harrah 's entertainment inc. is currently negotiating a deal with the Slovenian governement to build a 1 bn$ casino/entertainment resort in Nova Gorica Slovenia. There's quite a few Casinos in Slovenia but their Blackjack and Poker tables suck - so maybe this would chage things for the better.

lets go
its actually closer to san antonio than victoria because of its westness

they dont have a full gaming permit so you wont find roulette, craps, or baccarat

I lost my smegma last time i went because I strayed off the mookiesupersystem

but the 2 times before i always did prosper, as I won 200 at the 3-6 and then moved to the 5-10 and won 200 more

Cant_Be_Faded
12-22-2005, 03:52 PM
It does look more tacky than other casinos on the strip, and naturally i have no experience at high roller tables, but for the common gambler its no shittier or no better than any other casino.

I love me some hotdogs.

No seriously, (I wish I could go this week Scott, but I'm out till Janruary) we should plan a roadtrip in Janruary.

I want to hit up the 5-10 tables pretty bad if the play is that horrible. 3-6 doesn't sound too bad, but I'm afraid I'd probably hate the kickapoo after I see the rake on that table.

as long as you watch espn poker or fsn poker once a day, you should own all other players there

MannyIsGod
12-22-2005, 06:39 PM
lol, the people I own are the people who think they know how to play based on watching a couple of hands of the WSOP. Thats classic.

I'd imagine that the rake for low limit games is high. Anyone know what the rake is?

Cant_Be_Faded
12-22-2005, 06:41 PM
Yeah i was joking. Half of the people who watch poker on espn really suck ass but bet like they're big shit, and the other half have changed the common poker game by going all in with Ace/10 suited or some lame ass scrub ass shit like that.

Thats why I hate no limit hold 'em now, cuz now you gotta think like a dumbass to beat the dumbasses.

scott
12-22-2005, 06:44 PM

For a 2-4, the standard rake is usually 10% with a $4 cap. Since we are talking Indian Casino poker though... you never know.

MannyIsGod
12-22-2005, 07:17 PM
They don't have it online, I'll probably give them a call and then post what they tell me here. They are the only casino here in Texas, so they might have an even higher rake because of that as well.

Either way, if the games are as soft as they sound, It might not make a damn difference.
