TPark made it to the SpursTalk $250 league Super Bowl - he was due to win either $1,000 or $400. His opponent, we will call him Jeff, offered him a deal to split the jackpot $800-$600.
TPark's response, after losing (115.73-105.94):
Ive never seen anyone so smug like you.
Fuck you.
I know Kris and others back me up on that.
Get fucked asshole.
AND
"just looking at the matchups... yahoo has me 100.16 and you 86.70. not saying that means everything, but i'd say i'm a favorite."
Anyone that leaves me a message like that, makes them Asshole number 1 in my book.
Get screwed.
Im glad I only 400, and that I got my money legit.
Unlike screwing the system and being a underhanded jackass like you.
Merry fuckyou christmas.

Well, I'm on beer # XX (so I will refrain), but that was pure TPark bush league to go dropping f-bombs like that.
His miniature tirade pissed me off, immensley. Tpark was Vince Carter-esque.

I'm just happy I made my entry fee back (regardless of the outcome this week).
I had a damn good time with this all and hope we can do it again next year (maybe even a keeper league).

No lo entiendo.
The split was originally $1000-$400.
Jeff offered to change the split to $800-$600 (before the results, I assume). Why, because T Park was favored?
T Park said no (I assume again). T Park lost. Now T Park is angry. Why, because of the offer to change the split? If so, why not get mad before the results are in?
See, this is why I don't bet or play fantasy sports for real money.

Please refer to my previous comment - that beer XX thing.
I've got no heart for this game next year.
NONE!

Jeff was saying that since both teams were so good, he'd be willing to split $1200 50/50 and have the winner get the remaining $200.
I'm not going to speak for TPark, but Jeff made all the right moves this season and ended up with a hell of a roster overall.
Congrats to Jeff, Park and ASF (whose ass I still hope to kick with tomorrow night's game).

Guru, straight up, I don't know that we can all thank you enough for EVERYTHING you've done for the league since you had the original idea in the summer (and even last year).
I hope you decide to continue with this in the future.

Well, Jeff is a Piston fan .. he deserves a big "fuck you." ??

Did Jeff say anything to TPark? It seems liek something was left out for those of us not in the league.

He just said he was glad Park didn't take the split.
I'm glad you didn't take the split, too

Worked out well for me.
Congrats on a good season, though. If I knew what a spur was, I'd give you one.
Oh, and thanks for Larry Johnson ;)

Thank you Johnny.
I'm certainly burnt out at this stage.I hear it gets better.
Equally big thanks to Kori. Her name allows us to put $250 checks in the mail.
Big big thanks to Kori!

He just said he was glad Park didn't take the split.
Guess we didn't miss much then. Sounds like it was a good, competitive league though.

I wish I was in a money league...my team has a 13.5 game lead. Even though there are only 5 teams in my league...my team is stacked. So that could be a good reason I have a 13.5 game lead.

Yeah, me too. I've killed ths year in all my free leagues. But you know, different level of competition.

What doesn't change.
That im competive?
That I give a crap?
pardon the fuck out of me.
Should I have said, oh shoot, darn it, DASH IT ALL.
Please.
Sorry that you were so "easily" offended Guru.
His little pot shots, and the way hes talked to my friends LJ and Kris are what put me over the top.
Sorry if I wanted to stand up for my friends, and hopefully WIN.
My players didnt get it done, but oh well.

Oh and a big thanks to Guru and Kori.
Awesome work this year.
I must say, finishing second this year was a big step up from last year finishing in the basement of my league.
Also, I was 3-5 after 8 weeks, and won 7 weeks in a row to get to the finals.
I thought I had a good shot at winning it, so thats what irked me.
That and Jeremy Shockey, and Carson Palmer's horrible play today.
If Shockey matches what he was estimated and Palmer doesnt force 2 stupid INTs, Ive got a great shot.
Oh well.
On to next year.

Not at all.
I thought the whole offer was stupid.
We agreed before the season what the winner and what not would get, why undermine that and change everything.
Sorry, I just found that wrong.

So the dude offered you some kind of split and you turned it down?
And instead of just saying No....
You went off?

this offer was made last sunday after it was obvious we were gonna be in the finals.
The anger at this guy has been built up since after his treatment and messages for Kris.
Sorry, I get defensive about friends and really wanted to beat this guy.
I took it far, but thats how I am, If I do something, I want to freakin win bad!
I hate losing.
T Park
12-25-2005, 02:38 AM
No the guy was trying to cover his ass, because my team was on a roll, and alot of my guy's had favorable matchups.
AKA the Cincinatti Palmer and Houshmandzadeh vs Buffalo.
They stunk, I lost.
That simple.
If Palmer and Housh bring it, I win EASILY.
Thats how it goes, it doesnt bother me.
Its just how this guy talked to Kris and LJ, and his arrogance is what pissed me off.

LJ did.
By no rights should I have been in the playoffs at all. The same way as last year, I got in through luck and pluck.
I'm like the Chicago Bears in FF. Score just enough to win every week.
In the regular season, I finished in the middle of the pack in scoring, but second overall. I had a (pretty fluke, actually) win over Kori five days after the games were over on a scoring change.
Weeks I played the high scorers, something would happen to bring them back to earth.
