View Full Version : the New Year's Resolutions thread
Let's hear 'em.
Mine:
-care more about those who are close to me, and less about those who are not (general resolution)
- hit the weights, put on at least 15 lbs by summer, and get back into the kind of shape I was in before I broke my back
- get published, in print
- have someone recognize me, in person, from the afore-mentioned publication
- get paid (any ammount) to write/proof read any piece of work
- bike 100 miles (a "century") in one ride
- find and keep a meaningful relationship for over a month
The last one will be, uh...not easy.

1) Get back to a regular gym schedule--at least 3 days a week
2) Learn to live within a budget and not purchase/spend at whim
3) Be nicer to people. (apparantly I'm not! :()
4) Be less selfish--volunteer more or do more selfless acts
5) NOT STRESS OUT SO MUCH!--this is the biggest thing. I tend to stress out over things so much and let it affect my mood. I'm not as bad as I used to be, but I'm not quite there yet.
6) Control my temper!
7) Get more organized
8) Don't procrastinate as much--Relates to #5 :lol
9) Take more risks-damn the consequences--I need to stop being so afraid and take more action instead of missing so many opportunities.
10) ENJOY LIFE TO THE FULLEST!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll be graduating college this year and entering the workforce full time (:() I need to enjoy my freedom now while I can!

I do like the music. It rocks but that doesn't mean I look up to him. There are very few people I look up to.
If you look at my SIG now, you notice I have Elvis and The Beatles- i use to have TP/TD/Manu- Roy Williams of the Cowboys before and who knows what else.... so why not say I look up to them?
Do you look up to Darius McCrary?
He wishes YOU a Merry Happy New Year.

Because King Diamond would probably cast them all down to hell with but a flick of his wrist.
Seriously, is there a more bad ass production company than Metal Blade Records? Is there a more respected band on their lineup than Mercyful Fate? (besides maybe Gwar)
Is there a more hardcore, evil, awe inspiring frontman than The King Diamond?
The dude fucking rules all, I wish I could go to one of his concerts.

No, actually, I think MF and King Diamond are the fucking shit, true innovators, and have not received anything near the credit they truely deserve.
I also love how they shocked the hell out of people a long time ago cuz of their lyrics and "message"
true innovators. Thats what its all about. King Diamond fucking rules.
My New Year's resolution is to do something to shock the world.

His concerts rock. I've been numerous times. The 'message' the band portrays- I'm not much into. But I like the fact that he has the balls to do what he wants.

bad ass
do they still make music and tour?
In austin, there is this Metal Show on public access for 1 hour every Sunday at like 9 pm, they play nothing but bands from Metal Blade Records, with the occasional Slayer and Pantera. That's where I first heard about Diamond and MF.
Also, the christians would air old school 80's anti-death rock propoganda on public access...and the most frequently mentioned artist was MF.

Hell yea they still make music...they come to SA at least once a year. SA is a rock town and supports KD :tu

Loose some weight (about 10kg) I'm thinking about the fat. (The diet and so on)
Try to do something in the gym. Meaning do things good not wrong in technics and give the body needed rest. I want to bench my body weight and gain some muscle. But it's all about getting stronger.
End school
I'm not doing the NY resolutions. It's just typical resolutions
Im going to be nicer to people, and not be such a dick, apparently I have been told that I was big time last year :(
and Im going to make a huge effort not to curse as much, I must have a twin thats a sailor, because I have a real bad potty mouth, especailly when I bowl. So this Wednesday will be a true test. I have already adapted phrases like "what the flip?" or "what the deuce" (Family Guy refrence) and "Shut the front door". Hopefully this will work, and Im the nice curse-free guy for 2006!!!

1. I resolve to make the best grades I can get, to accurately display my abilities for college..aka get all freaking A's
2. I resolve to use time wisely and prioritize...watching the Spurs game is not gonna get me into college sadly.
3. I resolve to be healthy...not necessarily "lose weight" but just be in better shape...and avoid any illnesses as well...get enough sleep so I'm not an emotional basketcase like last semester (hopefully #2 will take care of that)
4. I resolve to get closer to God...no explanation needed.
5. I resolve to keep the house clean, and make it cleaner if possible.
6. I resolve to stop taking trivial things seriously...kind of part of #2.
