..the least popular President award
Bush least popular US president: survey
President George W Bush ranks as the least popular and most bellicose of the last 10 US presidents, according to a new survey.
Only nine per cent of the 662 people polled picked Bush as their favourite among the last 10 presidents.
John F Kennedy topped that part of the survey with 26 per cent, closely followed by Bill Clinton (25 per cent) and Ronald Reagan (23 per cent).
Bush was also viewed as the most warlike president (43 per cent), the worst for the economy (42 per cent) and the least effective (33 per cent). But he was rated most highly in response to a question on who would do the right thing even if it were unpopular.

JFK ranked number one, followed by Clinton and then Reagan
:lol
So much for legacy.

The survey was conducted by the Chicago-based National Qualitative Centres, a marketing research company, as part of research for a forthcoming book on popular preferences, one of its authors, Ken Berwitz, said.GODDAM LIBERAL MARKETING RESEARCH COMPANIES WITH THEIR MP3 PLAYERS AND GARAGE DOOR OPENERS -- ERR -- AHHH -- FUCK -- WHATSIT? I like your usage of the word trust here, Vashner.
The real story here is how Bush, a guy that got 62 million people to vote for him in, has fans that think he's doing a crummy job and still trust him:
But he was rated most highly in response to a question on who would do the right thing even if it were unpopular.
After all, by your way of thinking, John Kerry has the second most votes of all time in a presidential election. And 59 million people voted against Bush, which is also a record (obviously). That's a lot of liberal assholes, and plenty of us really don't understand why so many people blindly follow the President's lead, even after being dissatisfied with his job performance.
Anyway, back to trust. What I want to know is why so many people, through all the trials and tribulations of this presidency, have this trust in George W. Bush. Is it a religious thing (i.e. faith)? Will us lefties ever "get it"? Or do we need to wait on the official OnStar* poll to get the true conservative opinion, since no GOPer's are ever polled by the damned liberal media?

I've come to the conclusion, albeit slowly, that there are a few here who actually believe what they believe and are sure of their convictions. The others are purely jingoistic, rude, moronic, and even seeping out with insanity in their diatribes, so much that they cannot start a simple conversation without slinging protest rally phrases.
As for Bush not being the best president in the past twenty years, public oppinion is never solid on historical perspective. One positive note on Bush has been that the majority of the public believe he'd do the right thing no matter what cost politically. Now there are many of you here who don't even afford him that luxury of sticking to his guns, but the general public and even his most ardent enemies acknowledge such a trait with Bush.
Do you NbaDan, realize what this means?
That for now the sky is gray on his legacy, but it is bound to change either late in his term or retroactively in a decade or so. This is the same thing that happened to Reagan. Reagan was hailed in his day as the dumbest president ever elected and a simpleton who consulted with the Tim La haye crowd on eschatological matters. HE was viewed as a half brain, and yet with his own half brain he managed to fend off and crush the soviet union. That is the mark of his legacy, that he was strong in his convictions and he lifted a nation that was depressed from stagnation, deflation, the vietnam war, and falling competitevness in the world market. Reagan made everyone feel proud to be an american, and now bush is following in reagans footsteps.
Since Reagan was the dumbest president ever, Bush came along and somehow Reagan's IQ skyrocketed. Eventually there's a pattern here. Every republican president that will come will be hailed as dumber than the other and more vile. Eventually Bush will be viewed as a genius in world affairs, and the next hayseed republican who comes to conquer will be dumbed down in order to skew public oppinion on why not to vote republican.
Nevertheless, the public sees Bush as determined to the right thing no matter what, and that is the strongest trait of a true leader. America will come around and so will the academics. Hillary Clinton was a partisan basher of Nixon, but eventually she came around later in her life to commend Nixon of being "light years ahead of all of us".
Later on when Bush wont be a threat to liberal dominance, many liberal academics and like will come around and appraise Bush for what he truly was. A strong leader, with conviction who put america first. But now Bush is a threat and his enemies are too blind to see how exemplary his performance has been militarily. His administration is on the verge of turning Iraq into a democracy even though there are threats of civil war which have'nt materialized. Afghanistan, being a stumbling block to all the greats from Alexander to Communist Russia, was oblitirated in 1 week.
So spare us the anemic polling, and bring on your own conclusions of why he should not be a leader of this country.

If you do not have anything to hide, then why so scared of them spying?
I could care less if they have tapped into my phone and listen while I talk to my buddies about the party from the night before.

"Now, by the way, any time you hear the United States government talking about wiretap, it requires -- a wiretap requires a court order. Nothing has changed, by the way. When we're talking about chasing down terrorists, we're talking about getting a court order before we do so. It's important for our fellow citizens to understand, when you think Patriot Act

I propose a new voluntary program, let's call it the Patriot Act 4, those who support what the WH is doing can sign up to have cameras installed through-out their home, in the bathroom and bedroom included, after all, if you don't have anything to hide, what are you scared off, right?

Better yet, lets just pass a "terrorist civil rights" bill. Give them all the
"constitutional" rights of privacy. Whatever the hell that is. I never seen
those right expressed in the constitution or bill of rights.
As far as I am concerned, Bush is doing an outstanding job of keeping me
alive. As for those opposed to it, go to Cuba, I am sure your rights will
be observed there and you get all the great free medical care. And a
really good education, at no cost.
