for those of you who forgot, Bob Hill was the last coach before the Popovich regime before he got fired by him. The sonics fired Bob Weiss and now Bob Hill is taking his place. Great to see him back in the coaching ranks, cant wait till we play him.

The Sonics must like former Spurs coaches named Bob.

So when he fizzles out, will they hire John Lucas? Or maybe Jerry Tarkanian?

The Sonics are a disaster. Right now Luke Ridnour is hurt and Ray Allen/Rashard Lewis hate Flip Murray at the point. And there only other backup PG is Mateen Cleaves (cheerleader/scrub) since Brunson is out for four months. So they are starting DAMIEN WILKINS at the point ... yes, the small forward.

Good luck to Bob Hill.

Poor Bob. Better to captain a sinking ship than no ship at all. Maybe now's the time to tempt them with Beno?

Beno's not worth anything - he has a small contract. Ridnour isn't out for long but they might go after Earl Watson.

I would hope that Seattle's management is on the phone with Kiki to get Earl Watson ASAP.

What's the deal with Earl Watson anyways? Is George actually getting him some minutes these days? Or is he just soaking up his paycheck Jerome James style?

They acquired Watson in the summer with the plan to move Andre Miller. That didn't happen and now they have an extra legitimate point guard. So they are trying to move Watson.

Damn...to say they Sonics came crashing down to earth after their hot start last year is an understatement.

I never have cared for the job Bob Weiss does in motivational abilities or his in-game strategies. I was amazed at his strategy in the Dallas game recently. The Sonics were at home and had Dallas on the ropes. The Sonics went away from going to Ray Allen and tried to post up Lewis again and again instead of score from the outside, plus he had Ridenour come in and taking outside shots instead of penetrating and kicking. They just couldn't get baskets that way and they let Dallas take it from them at the end.

Bob Hill will probably improve the scoring..but little else.

Yeah, I know it's Bob Hill, but damn - I had a beer with a current NBA head coach last spring :drunk

How soon will the Sonic players tune out Hill?

Oh, Gee!!

Bob Hill is a kindly old gent.

He's been an assistant there and is well-liked among the players. He should be okay -- though they'll keep losing. Their management is cheap and they have a lot of bad players there right now. Fortson is always causing trouble. Their point guard situation is a disaster. Radmanovic didn't really want to stay there this summer but no one else wanted him.

Only took Seattle five months to come to the same conclusion I did when this was announced :king

When do the Spurs play Seattle at the AT&T Center?

For some reason, SBC Center just flowed better.

Beno is better than most backup and some starting point guards. No Spurs are needed to be traded. Seattle gave away 2 players and their coach so of course they suck.

No, unless Jim knows something we don't. He had a stroke 3 years ago but it wasn't fatal.

I see him at Spurs games fairly regularly. He lives here locally. I thought maybe I missed something.

The Raptor's web site say nothing about him passing...just that he had a stroke in Jan. 2002 and is still recovering.

If he is no longer with us I meant no disrespect whatsoever.

in the sa/denver game, there was a very small lineup that played for a while with watson, boykins, and andre miller. watson does seem to be getting more minutes these days, whether it's showcasing for trade or not i do not know...

I have heard of him though.

Prepare to tune your idiot boxes to TNT on Thursday! You just might see Charles Barkley open the "Mystery Envelope", and we'll see how right Charles Barkley REALLY is! (after all, he sure did predict that the first coach to get fired this season was going to be from the Western Conference, didn't he?!) And didn't Bob Hill coach the Sonics before being the Spurs head coach?
