I'm going to be calling Lakeland/Bartow home for the next few months (sans family) and was looking for a few things to do besides sitting on the couch and drinking beer on the weekends since my family is staying in San Antonio.

I've pulled my dive gear out of the closet (after 10 years) and plan on getting recertified, and if I can get a broadband connection in my new place I may invest the $350 in a base station for the home in SA to transmit my satellite to my PSP so I can watch the Spurs instead of every Heat/Magic game. But other than that and find a range to shoot my bow, I'm open to suggestions.

I have to say this, in 46 days you can take a drive about 109 miles northeast! But you better get tickets now! :drunk

Never lived there, but have gone to 2 races there. Great little track for Hooters Cup racing. :elephant

Just to fill you in, the Daytona 500 happens in 45 days. That was the hint of my above post.

Spring training is soon. Lakeland hosts the Tigers, but there are a lot of nearby area venues for the Grapefruit league.

Lived in Key Biscayne for a couple years. The best fishing ever is off the coast of Clearwater, Florida.
