i think KG shld pair with Kobe or Timmy to stay in contention of an NBA title. With the Wolves he'll retire just like Barkley or Malone despite his above par stats..
such a waste :cry

Spurs finally got separation when Gino came in and got into that double foul with Garnett to get him out of the game (temporarily).
Bowen was awesome tonight offensively and most of the time on D.
I sure hope the Spurs bring energy in PHX. It's going to be a real challenge in the 4th qtr. on a b2b.

KG in foul trouble cost them the game. And Manu just made sure KG's frozen when he got his 4th & 5th foul...and i have to give extra credit for Manu for the job well done.
and TP too for being the game's best player.

CourtSpurs hold off Timberwolves
FINAL
The Spurs finally built a little momentum late in the third quarter and led the rest of the way for an 83-77 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday at the SBC Center.
Tony Parker led the Spurs with 23 points and Manu Ginobili had 21 points off the bench. Bruce Bowen added 14 points and Tim Duncan had 12.
Timberwolves star Kevin Garnett had 18 points for the game -- but managed only six points in the second half. Garnett did not have a basket in the fourth quarter. He got into foul trouble early in the second half with four fouls in the third quarter.
Garnett had Rasho Nesterovic guarding him most of the game. Robert Horry also played defense against Garnett at times.
THIRD QUARTER
Bowen had seven points in the third quarter to help carry the Spurs to a 62-56 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Duncan, who was quiet offensively in the first half, had five points in the first six minutes of the second half. Bowen had two baskets in the first four minutes of the third quarter. Bowen's 3-pointer at the 2:31 mark of the third quarter extended the Spurs' lead to eight points.
Garnett had five fouls by the end of the third quarter. He picked up four of them in the period -- the last coming on a double foul with 3:48 left in the quarter when he got tangled up with Ginobili.
Parker had six points in the last seven minutes of the third quarter to give him 18.
SECOND QUARTER
Parker and Ginobili combined for 21 points in the first half as the Spurs went into halftime tied 39-39. Parker had 11 points in the first quarter and added the Spurs' final basket of the half. Ginobili had eight points off the bench.
Duncan had only two points in the first half. Garnett had 12 points for the Timberwolves.
There were 10 lead changes in the second quarter as neither team managed to put together a run.
FIRST QUARTER
Parker scored 11 points in the first 10 minutes of the game and the Spurs finished the first quarter in a 22-22 tie. Neither team led by more than three points in the first quarter.
When Parker went to the bench late in the quarter, Nick Van Exel came in and hit a basket and a 3-pointer in the final 1:05 of the period.
The Spurs opened the game with Nesterovic playing defense on Garnett. Horry was on Garnett at the end of the quarter when Nesterovic was on the bench. Garnett had six points in the quarter.
PREGAME
Backup Spurs point guard Beno Udrih missed the game. Spurs spokesman Tom James said Udrih has flu-like symptoms. The Spurs put Udrih on their inactive list for the game.
The Spurs play the Suns in Phoenix on Saturday. The Spurs are scheduled to jump on a plane right after Friday night's game.
Udrih is averaging 2.6 points and 1.3 assists and has seen action in 15 of 32 games this season. He has season highs of nine points and four assists in a game.
Spurs center/forward Sean Marks, who had been inactive in recent games, was activated.
Richie Frahm, Dwayne Jones and Bracey Wright are inactive for the Timberwolves.
..so this means Beno will be out for the next few games too?

That's when Manu drew the 4th and 5th on Garnett, then Manu goes down and scores the leaner over Wally to start the final separation.
Garnett had scored to draw within 1 and then TP and Manu did their thing, as did Bruce. That's when they blew it up to 8 and by 6 at the end of the 3rd.

And when is Garnett going to get that he doesn't intimidate Manu? Did you see the stare down walking back down the court, and then Garnett bumping by Manu to get to his seat? It reminded me of something that happend last year or year before that they showed on the big screen. KG was trying to stare down Manu, and he just held his 6" shorter ground. HOT HOT HOT. Does anyone know where I can get a picture?

yeah, Kevin staring at Manu was real balla theatre, and Manu had the cajones to stare right back him.
Manu said in an interview that there's nobody in the NBA who scares him.
KG is little bitch loser.

When Manu scored over Wally the next trip, Ginobili got up off the floor and looked over at the T-Wolves bench as if to say, "I don't need no 9's, uzis, rocket lanchers, hand grenades, bazookas, .45's, M-16's, AK-47's, machetties, or Glocks to break you down".
