View Full Version : Got a tattoo?

If so, what is it and where.

-a Spur on the top of my left arm
-japanese words "loyalty" on my left ankle
-same as above but "love" on my right

I got them all at once on my 18th birthday. Was sort of... drunk. I chose "loyalty" and "love" to represent the Spurs I guess. I am 21 now and looking back I shouldn't have got the ankle one's but I like the Spur on my arm. I need to get it fixed though.

What tats ya got?

Yes that will be my next tattoo. I have been planning on that for some time now.

That's a really neat tattoo Summers! I've never seen that before.

I'd love to get a Spur on my inner wrist but I'm afraid of needles so I've never thought about it seriously.

That would hurt. I don't reccommend getting a tat on a sensitive part of your body.

Like your wrist, neck, so on and so forth. I have heard stories of guys accidently poking through the skin because its so thin.

Wow Summers that's neat.

I don't like tattoos at all (no offense to anyone) but that's very unique.

That settles it! I am happy to keep drawing it with a ballpoint pen. :)

Same with my family. I have to cover them when I am around them or I have to hear about it non-stop.

I'm not a big fan of huge tat's. That's about it though.

U.S.M.C. Tatoo on my left arm.

Atta boy Joe. We weren't "allowed" to get tats when I was in (the whole "sterile" concept). In '92 I got a freehand tribal type on my right upper arm (runs from my shoulder to my elbow) in Portsmouth, Va on a Sunday. Since I'm solo in Florida, I'll probably get it touched up and maybe even add another.

I've always wanted this one if I had been qualified 0321...

I want to get one.

I want it to be a steer skull wrapped in barbed wire with 3-4 symbols representing who I am in them.

Even the skull and barbed wire represent something significant.

I just need to figure out one of the symbols and then stop being lazy and have it drawn up.

I want one, but don't have any. I want an Om. It's an indian symbol that means peace.

I wonder how many people regret getting tatoos at 18 (or at younger age than present)?

That is the #1 reason I don't have one because I don't know how I will feel about it 1,5, or 10 years later. :nope

one time while i was out shopping i saw a "soccer mom" with a huge tattoo of a heart with a banner wrapped around it and the word "bitch" in large cursive on the banner. im sure shes thinking "not the brightest thing ive ever done". i wanted to walk up to her and say "what up bitch?" just to see if she would get mad at me.

I have a rose with my name on my ankle. It doesn't mean anything to me, I just wanted a tattoo so I got that. I wish that I had put some thought into it and got something meaningful but I was 18 and thought it was cool to get one.

My next tattoo will be a fishing monkey... my grandfather (who passed away last summer) loved to fish and he loved monkeys. My cousin got a fishing monkey tat for her birthday in October so I'm going to get one like it. I also want an alpha & omega symbol (or a cross) on my wrist.

I would only get one if someone I loved died, and in that case I would have a hard time picking something that did them justice.

I've wanted to get the same tattoo Nicole Richie has on her foot but I know it's going to be really painful and I'm a wuss when it comes to needles. You can kind of see it in this pic. One day I'll get it.. just don't know when.

My uncle's wife is Japanese dude. She confirmed it for me by my asking her how to spell "love" and "loyalty" in Japanese. Then I matched them.

I have a butterfly tattoo on my right hip.
It's just a bunch of squigly lines that come togetehr to look like a butterfly.
I designed it myself.
I got it done 2 weeks after my 18th birthday and 1 week beofre I got married.
It was a gift from my soon ot be husband.
I felt like everything was changing in my life and so was I. Things were goign to be better.

I've had it for 7 years now.Don't regret it.

I do. J and I got them as wedding gifts for each other.

I designed it over four years ago, and waited for a long time to get it to make sure it was something I really wanted, that was really meaningful to me and something I'd want marked on my body long term. I intend to add on to this (on my left leg, just above the ankle, on the inner side) so it goes all the way around my ankle, but I haven't designed anything yet, and when I do, I'll wait for at least a year to think it over.

Anyway, great pic of my husband's tattoo (spurs_fan_in_exile's Texas flag) and mediocre pic of my moon and star.

I'd also like to get my husband's initials done as a wedding band tattoo (generally hidden beneath my wedding rings), and I've planned to get something on my right ankle for a couple years having to do with a fall leaf.

As for the comments about cleanliness - there ARE sterile and clean tattoo parlors. Anyone thinking of a tattoo needs to do their research and know what's going on. They should ask to see the autoclave, watch someone being tattooed to see if any equipment is reused and if they are properly sterilizing the equipment, changing gloves, etc. Fresh needles should be OPENED in front of the person receiving the tattoo and they should watch for the needles to be thrown away in a sharps container.

I've had piercings and tattoos done at Sacred Heart in Houston. I would (and have) recommended them highly for expertise, cleanliness, safety, artistry and professionalism. The owners of that studio have lobbied the Texas legislature to raise health standards in tattoo and piercing parlors.

Just know where you are going and who is going to work on you.

You have to take care of the tattoo properly. Never had any problems at all nor did any of the guys in my platoon who got em.

But there is ALWAYS a chance of infection.
