Isnt it odd that theres a thread sort of complaining about Nick, and then he starts playing well (as far as i can tell from just the stats) and hits the 3!

Maybe, before every game we should start 12 or so different threads, 1 for each player (and probably pop too) - and it might light a fire under their bums... you know, just to be safe.

Spurs shooting 59% vs 39%,
RBs 22 - 15
3Gs 6/10!!
.... looks like blowout, but
Spurs up by only 8 at the half.

Poor Tony, he has absolutely no feel in his FTs.

Nets concentrating on Tim, and it's working: only 6 pts and 3 RBs, 4 T0s.

first, they tortured the Suns w/ that famous win in 3 OTs, maybe one of the classic games this season,

then, tonight they just nipped Cleveland.

so Marbury 19 pts; 7 asst/game, finally understand Coach Larry? :lol

Excuse my ignorance, but ive always been puzzled by this - but does a 3G attempt, count towards the FG attempts, or are they seperate?

for example, if Manu shoots 3/6 from 3, and 6 from 12 for FG, does that mean he only scored 3 other 2pt FG's, along with his 3 3FG's?

Warlord23
01-10-2006, 10:04 PM

Rummpd
01-10-2006, 10:05 PM
They count in FG% (but are also analysed separetely to just look at 3 point%)

There is a measure of points per FG attempt which is a good stat to look at to evaluate perimeter players more fairly.

milkyway21
01-10-2006, 10:05 PM
3 is a field goal, so it is counted as one.

How good has Duncan been at the line going in the Pistons game could be huge.

And I predicted a 5 point win!

well at least I win the "under 8 points" Vbookie.

I don't know if I've ever seen that many points score in the last 39 seconds of a game. Hell, VC has 9 by himself in that time period.

Damn, if only Duncan could shoot this well at the stripe all the time. 13-15 ft. Next game, I bet Duncan goes cold at the line. Dammit, that shooting coach is inconsistant.

Tim took some wild ass shots, but he bailed himself out at FT line.

Michael still shooting cold 2/8, 25%, that's 4 games in a row of cold shooting.

I guess we were lucky that Richard's 18 PPG had back spasms.

TOs made it too close and an ugly win.

Gotta step it up a bunch more Thu night.

Pistons played it close, then killed NO/OK in the 4th.

Something had to give. Nice win, bad finish Spurs.

Tim and Manu were pretty special tonight (from the floor and the line) once the clock got inside 9 minutes remaining in the game. That 11-0 run when Manu came back in was a back-breaker for the Nets.

Vince Carter's horrible ball handling and decisions in that time period were the big reasons.

I disagree that Ginobili played well, horrible decisions tonight, some bad moves in traffic.

Something doesn't seem right about Ginobili....

Something had to give. Nice win, bad finish Spurs...i totally agree with you Solid D, that last 40 sec of the game was real bad..

actually Pops despite the win is not happy...

Pops, postgame quotes:

On the game - “Well, we won a basketball game. They helped us out because they were undermanned. They played more aggressively than we did. They executed better. They were sharper. In the last 39 seconds, they scored 14 points. That’s disgusting. We showed a total lack of concentration, a total lack of effort, a total lack of cohesiveness, both on the court and in me as a head coach. It was disgusting.”

it was like a deja vu of that TMac last 30 sec ran in Houston :cry. Only this time we won the game.

They may not have shown this on t.v. - but Linton " Dude ya'll I'm not Nazr" :lol was given his ring last night.
Pop, Timmy, Tony, and Bruce all presented it to him.
Linton hoisted the box up to the cheering crowd and in the process dropped his ring. :spin But he recovered nicely.

Last night Robert Horry did a chalk talk after the game with anyone who wanted to stay. He was way late.
Sean Elliot hosted the event and asked about the delay. Rob explained that the team had been scheduled for their routine drug tests.
Unfortunately Rob had relieved himself before the game and didn't have enough for a sample.
Sean joked ( paraphrased): How ironic is it that Mr. clutch whose made a career of delivering under pressure could not pee when called upon!” :lol

Because of the chalk talk, I had been allowed to move down to the third row. I got down there just as Amy Duncan was leaving with Baby. It was my first ever in person glimpse.
Sydney (that is her name right?) has the cutest little face- just precious!

Something doesn't seem right about Ginobili....

Maybe that he is once again having to come off of the bench because there is no one else stepping up to be sixth man. I understood when he was coming off the bench after the injury to slowly build up his minutes again, but to lose his starting spot because they need a spark off the bench is getting old.

Let's start a new reality show called The Bench. Manu is starting, which means that someone off the bench needs to step up. One of you will become the spark-off-the-bench go-to sixth man, and one of you will be put on waivers. Go.

Manu needs to come off the bench... WGAF about Manu anyway? Dude has barely played this year.

Spurs have the second best record in the league and their best ever without him.

You attack your opponent's weakness. Our's is FT shooting.

They should have started earlier. At some point the game is out of reach, and it's just bush league. I'd mention it if the Spurs did it, too. They don't.
