I love Paul Pierce and I believe he may come cheaper. I'd give up our first next year, Barry, Rasho, and Oberto for him and some slappy big man.

Artest makes 6M. Pierce makes 14M. How would Pierce come cheaper?

:wtf

And I'm sure Boston and/or Indiana would jump at those deals. Giving up their superstar for our eighth, ninth, and tenth players - and a first rounder, which would be the last few picks in the round.

Hell, they may throw in cash, as well.

How about Boston just gives you Paul Pierce on an I.O.U.??

The Spurs will not beat Detroit in a 7-game series without Artest.

It needed to be said. Thanks.

Rights to Scola, Rasho, Beno. Sweetened with a first round pick in 2008 or 09.

that would be badass if we picked up pierce, we dont need rasho, barry, and oberto, or even beno anymore. we can use them as trade bait. hells yeah!

SA could markedly improve their play in the next 3 months, and detroit could start playing worse. stranger things have happened.

Sweet, and the Pistons could pick KG for Acker, Dale Davis, and Darko...

so you are just a delusional homer; I was wondering about that after your "the pistons only scored 83 points" remark in another thread. :rolleyes

if being a homer is realizing the pistons scored only 55 points after scoring 28 in the first quarter, then i guess i am. that comes out to 18 1/3 points per subsequent quarter. if i am delusional to believe that somehow between now and june the spurs could be able to score more than 18 points in a couple quarters, then i guess i am. maybe i don't get my kicks from "banging fat chicks" and putting down the spurs because they lost a game in january.

And neither would ours.

Ron artest is pretty much screwed. Maybe there's someone over in Europe who will take a chance on him :)

Artest is a dirtbag .. not a good person.

Any true Spurs Fan would not want such an BEEP hole on our team.

It's about winning the right way .. not just by spending money on something you know is BEEPed up (Artest).

I'd be very suprised if the Spurs DIDN'T step it up between now and the playoffs. And deeply disappointed if Detroit takes a step back, of course.

Most of all I'd be profoundly amused if you guys picked up Ron http://tinypic.com/igxetv.gif Artest.

The only commodity we have is Luis Scola and his buy-out clause dampens that dramatically. There isn't a team in the league that wants any part of Rasho Nesterovic, Beno Udrih, Brent Barry and any combination thereof.

First of all Detroit went 12-12 to start the season last year and then pushed us to the brink in a 7 game series for the title.

Second if we go get someone it better be Michael Pietrus! He has the length and athleticism we need. He would make an extremely potent defensive combo with Bowen. Then go small every where else like this:

Parker
NVE
Bowen
Pietrus
Duncan

I think it would work. :)

umm why would a "small" lineup not include manu?

cheaper as in we wouldnt have to give up as much and they would prolly take Rasho's contract.

What is Ron's salary????

Nevermind... I just saw Kori's post: 6MM/yr

That doesn't make sesne.

To get Ron, you have to give up about 6M in contracts.

To get Pierce, you have to give up around 14M.

So you have to give up more to get Pierce.

That means we could send Indiana Barry + Nazr + Beno (Since Tinsley is always hurt) for Artest + Foster....
