Puerto Rico, China, Italy and USA... Man, how many teams to crush....

I think we already have 1st place guaranteed! LOL

Talk about dream come true...

Obstacle: d'Antoni knows pretty much about everything about Nachbar and was in Europe when most of our players had their breakthru. This game will be something else.

I hope Manu and Parker don't hurt themselves. I'm thrilled Duncan realizes it's not worth it. Beno and Rasho, whatever. I don't want them hurt but, it's not a big loss.

When are the games scheduled to begin?

Pero
01-15-2006, 05:32 AM
They begin on the 19th of August.
I think we`ll have at least two wins, maybe three, more would be a surprise.

All teams are tought, but we bellive that we will win. Puerto Rico is good team, China not so much but they have Yao. Italy is good but we beat them a lot of times. Senegal will also be tought becouse it will be first game of tournament.
USA nothing to say.... They are favorits of the group and turnament

Dajnomir! You seem to forget how good we really are this time around.
USA is team in building, so they are just looking for a whoop-ass. China could be a problem, but I think Nachbar would be motivated.
Puerto Rico and Senegal we just cannot lose, entire practice should be intended on how to beat those two, along with China. USA is just the icing on the cake. :)

Any win WILL be a succes. We musn`t expect too much, this is our first time at the WC. All the teams in our group can beat us, I`m not sure for Senegal only. Are they any good?
I would expect us to beat Italy and Senegal (?), the rest will probably be very hard to beat.

Senegal has good players but Slovenia should beat them.
They have good young athletics bigs (Sow who average 20/12 in dleague, Diop with mavs and NDong with Clippers).
For the backcourt they have solid players like Babou Cissé at PG who plays with mahinmi in France.

Bruno
01-15-2006, 09:34 AM
and France-Argentina will be a great game.
Argentina is better but the french team has good young players : Parker, Mickael and Florent Pietrus, Gelabale, Diaw, Turiaf, Mahinmi and Petro.

Any idea how the groups were created, I read in Natl Argentinean paper that "were created thru a complex process" (not to say discretional way).

btw,

My candidates are ... USA, ARG, BRA, S&M

Get real. S&M hasn't produced a decent result last 3 years. S&M hasn't even get into Top8 in last Eurochampionship, they are there because of wildcard.

Depends what was Bodiroga along with Divac to those players... Maybe you are right, but you cannot get worse then losing on your homecourt in such an early stage.

Slovenia is :king ! :elephant

Argentina is a very close second. :spin

I hope Rasho, Beno and Manu are the last ones standing. Then I can just sit back and enjoy.

I would like to see Turkey, New Zealand, and France to do well in that order. :tu

I don't want them to win but I like watching Serbia & Montenegro, Greece, Spain, Germany, and Italy.

Depending on who goes with the U.S. I may or may not root for them at all. If it is a Kobe, Kevin G, Shaq combo forget it!

If Team USA really does get longer-term commitments from a core group of players as I expect, I think that will put them back on top. I was surprised (and somewhat embarrassed) at their performance both pre and in the 2004 Olympics, but I think that the future roster will take the competition much more seriously this next time around. Having said that, I think that Team USA will win the World Championships and the Olympics, but it is terrific to see how other national teams have risen.

Its also too bad that Duncan won't play. What a taint on his CV, having had the honor winning a Bronze in 2004 and living in foul trouble. Good God. As a diehard Spurs and Duncan fan, that is tough to swallow. On the one hand I wish he'd give it another go, but for the most part I'm glad he'll rest as enters his thirties and instead focuses on trying to win a couple more NBA championships.

Of course the comparison is not easy, but during the last euro, the greeks win without any NBA players.

International games are not "one on one" based.

In those games its very hard for a player to make the difference all by himself.
If US players don't take the time to learn how to play together... they can loose. If they play as a team (and not as a bunch of stars) no-one can resist.
