Ian is still learning.
Ian and his team (STB Le Havre) have struggled lately.
They just have won a game 73/71.
Ian had 17 (6/9) pts, 7 rbds in 27 minutes.

He still has foul troubles so his playing time is limited.

In 17 games, Ian stats are:
9 (59%) pts 5 rbds in 19 minutes.
Ian must also improve his FT shooting (he has an awful 61%)

Do the Spurs have to have terrible free throw shooters in the future too?

And for the thread :
Ian is playing good this year.
He is just very young and very raw, he is still a project.

Eh... he has never impressed me.
Many people said the same when TP's name was brought into discussion in the summer 2001, and also in Boris Diaw Riffiod & Nenad Krstic case too

I agree with Bruno. Ian is doing good things. Considering his playing time, 9 pts and 5 rebonds his quiet good for a 19 years old prospect.
Remenber that he started basket ball five years ago. He hisn't born with a ball in the hands.

But he must absolutely be more disciplined if he wants to play more minutes.

No and by far.
Oberto is better than Mahinmi too.

That's the key stat the FO looks for first. If the guy shoots better than 60% on FTs, he might win a tight game or two down the stretch. That's not playing the game the 'right' way.

Pop and the FO want players who win the game without FTs.

In that case, this guy is so far away from the NBA and the Spurs he might as well be on the moon.

When the spurs scouts go out to scout, do they look at guys who have shit FT% because they know that other team scouts would not even look at those players, and spurs just picks the gem out of the group of crap ft shooters?

Free throws are for pussies.

That HAS TO be a shirt. Actually, it should be the Spurs' official slogan.

But I'd settle for the shirt.

I think I read the other day that Robertas Javtokas is something like 40% on his FTs so far this year in Euroleague play. He's playing terrific otherwise, but it must be true the Spurs are attracted to poor FT shooters.
