I'm surprised that Guru hasn't had his virtual Pop fire his virtual Bob Hill -- must be waiting for Stoudemire to come back to do that.

I can't fire myself! All I can do is wait and find out if I'm the next Gregg Popovich or Bob Hill.

Actually, I received all the benefits of tanking in the inaugural draft itself - Deron Williams in the 3rd, Shaun Livinston in the 4th, J.R. Smith in the 5th, Telfair in the 6th, and Gerald Green in the 7th.

Getting next years #1 is a nice bonus (Greg Oden has already been drafted for those of you on the outside looking in).

Upon further review, I think I see your point.

I should assume the Peter Holt role and hire Mouse to run my team.

That's all fine and dandy, until Keith Van Horn lands on my roster.

Actually, you would be Pop in my scenario -- you could make Mouse your virtual Bob Hill if you wanted, but I still think it would be funny if, on the day that Stoudemire comes back, you posted a news story on the league website announcing that your team's virtual coach has been canned and that you will be assuming the reins.

Maybe that's just me, though.

BEWARE (http://en.chinabroadcast.cn/301/2006/01/22/[email protected])

Sun Yue from the Beijing Aoshen Olympian team has been selected as the member of the West All Star team that will play in the ABA All Star Game next month.

Joe Newman, ABA CEO, gave high remarks on the young Chinese player.

"Having a 6 foot, 9 point guard reminds many of Magic Johnson in his style of play. Sun Yue is a force to be reckoned with", said Newman.

Thanks. There is a lot of risk, and the odds are (at best) 2 or 3 of my "upsiders" will live up to expectations, but I'm hoping for 7 or 8.

Yeah, that is what I was thinking. I wouldn't of drafted that many young players because they are not proven so no telling what will happen but I guess it is risk you are willing to take.

T-Pain was talking about where is DeJuan Wagner, I went to google to look up about him. Places had him compared to Allen Iverson :lmao So don't believe everything people think.

My goal was to draft (mostly) quality, durable players with 5-10 good years left in them. And I even got lucky on some up-and-comers like Diaw, West and Mo Williams so I should be good for a while.

Some of my role players are older, but shouldn't be too difficult to replace.

It lasts through the whole season and it costs $50 to get in. It is already too late for you to get in though unless someone doesn't play next year.

If not for problems with the drafting software, I'd be very happy with my team. As it is, I am happy with them right now.

How many years does it last for?
People are drafting players that arent even in college yet...

The driving concept behind "dynasty" leagues is that the owners carry the rosters over into the next season, season after season. That's why, for example, I drafted Deron Williams in the 3rd round (both leagues).

Good things, like money, come to those who wait.

MannyIsGod
01-29-2006, 07:39 PM
That was actually a trade of picks - it was made pre draft. And up untill Miles got hurt, it was a damn good trade. Considering how young he is, if he comes back this year and picks up where he left off it is a damn good trade for me.

It's not a good trade when you consider that I, and a few others I am sure, would have given you a 3rd round pick (EASILY) instead of an 8th round pick.

MannyIsGod
01-29-2006, 08:14 PM
No one made an offer other than the one that was made. I autodrafted the Dleauge draft, which shows you how much I value those picks. They're a roll of the dice, and while a few of those may turn out to be diamonds in the rough, in a leauge this deep you're not going to get by with 2 or 3 stars. You need solid contributers all across the board.

Anyhow, the round I got Miles in doesn't matter, because when he's played this season he's produced like many 2nd and 3rd rounders.

You've got a team that I could challenge at full stregnth only.

That's whack that I'd be the 4th seed with my record.

I'm hurtin'. Wallace, Iverson, and Harris are all out. So is Richardson, but there are no details anywhere as to why he hasn't played the past three games. But a 2-2 record this week despite all those injuries isn't too shabby at all.

But there is an upside. I now have Donyell Marshall to give me a little more than the 1 point a week Scott Padgett was giving me.

I really should have neld on to Devin Brown a little longer. And i hope they trade Reggie Evans soon.

Luckily, I found a sweet little gem in Tsakalidis and Evans is actually playing now. I still don't know what is up with Eddie Jones from week to week.

But I'm proud of my team for still putting up scores in the 80's despite having 3 inactive gaurds this week, including Iverson. Ford and Wallace are god damn monsters at times.

It sucks that I'll have to take on Spurminator in the second round. :spin

If his team has a solid week like he did this week then it'll either be Eriks or you taking his team on.

He beat me by like 4 pts this week, my only loss :depressed

Question, what happens if there is a tie in the records?

Such as 47-35 and another team gets 47-35. Does the team with the best record of the week get the higher seed?

I'm guessing they'd go by head-to-head match up records.

Yeah, that would make more sense.

I just looked it up.

VIII. PLAYOFFS

8A. Qualifying

A total of eight teams will qualify for the playoffs. The three division winners will get the first three seeds. The 4th thru 8th seeds will go to the best records of the remaining teams. Tiebreakers will be handled by the same rules that are used by the NBA.
Your right, head 2 head records.

This coming week shall determine which 4 of these teams make the playoffs. May the best team of the week win.

SW Division
AHF 48-30
BigShot 46-32
DC 44-34

Pacific
Blaze 46-32
Kori 44-34
CIA 43-35

HEY, don't count my crippled ass team out yet!
I'm 41-37 and have a good feeling about the upcoming week going 4-0.
Jut have to hope that DC and Kori won't win more than 1 (which most probably will happen for DC).

I hate when someone is out indefinitely. Doesn't Avery Johnson know I have a fantasy league to win? I'm telling you, these inconsiderate coaches and their "concern" for their player's health....

Hopefully Avery will give josh howard some run in the coming weeks, then I should be set. I have got nothing out of that forward spot for the last 3 weeks.

genghisrex is pulling a George Mason right now. He has a good chance to beat Spurminator in a first round stunner. Spurminator finished 76-6 in the regular season. genghisrex started 14-24 and had to fight to even make the playoffs.

For Spurminator to win, he'll need David West and Alan Anderson to play tomorrow. Eriks is also being upset right now by AHF, but he can make up the necessary ground if TJ Ford plays tonight.

shyne, as expected, is looking like he's going to beat timvp.

Shyne has had the best team in the league since Artest returned... I'd consider it an upset if he lost. Especially now that Garnett may be done for the year.
