Vandeweghe keeps interest in forward White

The Nuggets could be re-signing free-agent forward Rodney White in the near future if White is able to resolve his off-court problems. White was arrested last month in Washington on charges of carrying a pistol without a license. Last week he was released on a personal recognizance bond.

Nuggets general manager Kiki Vandeweghe said Monday that White could be reaching a settlement soon. The Nuggets have $2.4 million available in free agency and also are expected to sign free-agent guard Greg Buckner.

"We're going to wait and see how things turn out," Vandeweghe said. "We just want to do what's best for Rodney. Obviously, this is a very hard lesson for him."

White averaged 13.7 minutes, 7.5 points and 2.3 rebounds last season.

Vandeweghe said the Nuggets still have an interest in free-agent forward Ryan Bowen, who has played in Denver the past five seasons. Bowen's agent, Guy Zucker, said his client is expected to decide on an offer no later than mid-week. Zucker said the main contenders are Denver, Miami, Houston and Seattle.

Bowen worked out at the Nuggets' practice facility Monday and owns a home in Denver. He averaged 7.5 minutes last season.

"At this point, Ryan would like to make a decision," Zucker said. "Camps are getting close."
