The one that got the mayor worked up? He didn't like it at all apparently...

I know. He was the perfect, cool Mayor till I heard about the "riverwalk becoming to mainstream crap". Come on guy, live a little.

The last time I tried it was like 4 years ago at the Katy Mills Mall. The catfish was okay, little spicy for my taste. It is kinda pricey though, but I still wanna see what the one here looks like and try something different on the menu.

I saw a segment they did on the news the other night. It looks pretty cool. Neat little atmosphere but I'm not too sure about the menu. I wouldn't mind checking it out myself.

I've been to the one in Vegas.

It's okay. Kind of cool for kids to look at. The food is average and a little overpriced for what you get.

I've been to the one in Nashville and Grapevine. I love the atmosphere. The food is OK.

Went to one in Galvaston. Food was fine- not something I'd go out of my way to eat, but certainly enjoyable. My little nephew (sub-1-year-old at the time) loved it. That probably doesn't boad well for the adults, though.

We had a Rainforest Cafe here in Philly a few years ago. It was in one of the local malls. They made it all fancy, with the fake animals in the waterfalls, leafs/trees everywhere. They must have spent thousands of dollars designing that thing.

It closed after about a year. :lol

I've been to the one in Disney World, or at least one of the two they have there. Wasnt that bad. Defintiely a bit overpriced, but you pay for the atmosphere.

and the mayor has a point, downtown is becoming way too franchised. what always made the riverwalk and downtown area unique and awesome was that you could go there and find stuff you wouldnt find anywhere else. sadly that is eroding.

This place sucks. Food is really overpriced, our server was an idiot, and the barstaff were pretty damn shitty as well. Did I mention a long ass wait and the annoying monkeys?

Never again.

If they have one in Cancun I've been. The show was great and remember the food being decent too.

I went last weekend, it was very cool. Our 3-year old loved it. By the way, the shrimp brochette was awesome. It was a little over priced, but wasn't to crazy.
It's cool to at least try it once.

What's overpriced mean? Over 10 bucks a plate?

IMO, that restaurant is mainly for people with kids.

What's overpriced mean? Over 10 bucks a plate?Overpriced means priced more than what the food is worth. I have no problem paying for good food; I'm not cheap. But I don't think 20 dollars a plate for shit that is worse than what I'd get at Chilis is a good deal.

In fact, I think its pretty damn retarded.

Dude it wasn't a shitty restaurant !!!!

And as far as overpriced, you can find some plates for about 7-10 bucks.
Think of it as a Joes Crab Shack as far as prices, and there are 17-20 dollar plates available like the shrimp plate I had that was really good.

We all have our own opinions, so really, the only way to find out is going for yourself.

I will not try that place. Commercialized crap is what I would expect.
