T PARKER (SA)
------------------------------Over +150 Sat 28-Jan
TOTAL POINTS + ASSISTS 26 Under -180

Will TP get Over or Under 26 pts & assists combined tonight?
If he gets OVER it pays 1.5 to 1.

Yeah, thats a very good bet, but it doesn't pay crap...

Try something a little more risky like total points over/under.

1.5 on a player prop is pretty good.
Otherwise if I take O/U on the game it's risk $1.10 to win $1.

If I put $80 on TP to over that'll pay $120.

Whut? Over/Under on the game has to pay more than that.. Where are you betting?

Putting up $80 to win 40 is not a good bet. And its not good to bet on your own team because homeritis comes into play.

The Spurs are capable of scoring 68 points. They are also capable of scoring 100. They are also capable of losing to Atlanta and Denver at home.

Bet on Phoenix or Dallas or something like that....

No no no no no.

If $80 is bet on TP to get OVER 26 pts & assists combined & TP does get over 26 that player would win $120 AND their $80 back.

NBA over/under bets and betting on the spread pays out $1 for every $1.10 bet so to win $100 you must bet 110$ (of course if you win they will pay you $210 - I'm clarifying because you made a mistake on Mr. Dio's bet)

Correct. But he was talking stats... which is less. Bet 100, win 50.

Game over/under bets are bet 110, win 100.

that is why i said bet on the game vs. parker's stats.

Comprende?

Look @ the 5th post in this thread.
I got my $80 back & $120.

I didn't "win" my $80, I just didn't lose it.
I did WIN the add'l $120.

Player props pay good unless you take big dog on the Money Line.
For example, Sea is +160 in XL. If a person bets $100 they will WIN $160 & not lose their orig $100 bet.

We should keep a thread for just betting discussions. Maybe in a more appropriate forum?

What's inappropriate about talking about betting on Spurs game in a Spurs forum?

I already know who he is, I've met him a few times. So I don't think I need any info on him.

Good sleuth work, however.

Oh, I didn't mean it like that, just suggesting that we create a running thread in another forum, like the club, to have betting discussions that are not limited to just the Spurs.

Only suggesting this since it seems we have a few serious betters here. I've never bet on a sporting event in my life, a few friends of mine do, nothing big, just recreational, and bragging rights, so I have been thinking about it lately.
