Earl Boykins make the NBA. I am not dissing his game, I think he is a good player, but at his height (5'5") what did he do and how did he do it to reach the highest level of organized basketball? I find it pretty mind boggling for a guy like him to do that.

Never drafted by an NBA franchise. Played in the CBA in 1998-99...Signed as a free agent by the New Jersey Nets on 1/21/99. Waived by the Nets on 2/19/99...Signed to the first of two consecutive 10-day contracts by the Cleveland Cavaliers on 3/10/99...Signed for the remainder of the season by the Cavaliers on 4/2/99...Waived by the Cleveland Cavaliers on 10/28/99...Signed as a free agent by the Orlando Magic on 11/15/99...Waived by the Orlando Magic on 12/20/99...Signed a 10-day contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers on 2/8/00...Signed a second 10-day contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers on 2/18/00...Signed for the remainder of the season by the Cavaliers on 2/28/00...Signed as a free agent by the Los Angeles Clippers on 9/29/00...Signed as a free agent by the Golden State Warriors on 11/27/02....Signed as a free agent by the Denver Nuggets on 8/18/03.

Look how many times he got waived before he finally stuck with the Clippers.

He even though he was constantly being waived, teams still signed him to see him out and eventually he got a contract. All the years he got waived were in the same years and back-to-back, so he was usually always working.

Also, on 10-day contracts do they get paid for each day, how does it work?

He's a good ball handler, almost impossible to steal the ball from him, and he's quick as shit.

I think he's just lucky. He ain't that good. It's only because defenses are so defensive because it's easy to foul a little twirp like that. You touch him and he seriously flips out. It's pathetic. That's why he's had success is because he knows how to use it.

You get paid per game for the games during that 10-day period.

For example, a minimum NBA contract is around 400K this season. So divide that by 82 and that's how much they get paid per game.

Earl Boykins is averaging 13.4 points and almost 4 assists on 43% shooting. Doing all that with guys on the floor who have a good 5-10 inches on him. Yea, he's pretty lucky :rolleyes

Not to mention one of the deadliest shooters in the league.

^^Seriously. It takes more than luck for a player who's only 5'5 to make it in the NBA...

Yeah, I don't like him, but the little bastard can flat out ball. Imagine if those skills were in a package a foot taller.

he can make his shots, come on man, common sense, who cares what a mans height is, as long as you can put the ball through the hoop effectively, you can go a long way.

Like Allen Iverson said, a jumpshot can take you a long way
