We aren't about fashion or what looks good. We win games. You don't fix what isn't broke.

Ugh! Who cares. Nothing bothers me more that teams that strut out their "speical ocassion" jerseys for the TV cameras. I like the Spurs "understated", yet simple-looking, white home unis and those "menacing" black, road unis. Both are classics.

The Spurs players didn't like the silver jerseys so they nixed them.

Why not the 1979 Throwbacks? The ones with the black letters and numbers or the old road jerseys the Spurs used in the early 80s.

Because the authentics were shiny and crap.

The replica swingmans that are half the price were far better and not made of shiny gangster material.

They need to bring back the black road jerseys with "San Antonio" scrolled around the front. That was the shit.

Those silver jerseys were disgusting. The black-on-black jerseys from 78-79 were awesome though, and are the best Spurs jerseys ever IMO.

The San Antonio black on black road jersey's NEED to be brought back.

Why anyone in charge of that shit hasn't even attempted to do so is mind blowing.

Kori, who do you contact for such questions?

After a quick google search, I have to say I wouldn't mind seeing the black on black jerseys. Better than the sparkly silver jerseys, much better than the Sonics mustard yellow throwback jerseys.

I actually like the silver jerseys.... I would add however that they needed more 'black' accents. If I'm not mistaken it is that lack of contrast that makes them seem 'uglier'.

This would be much better than the silver.

i think we do need an alternate jersey. i actually liked the silver ones too, except they looked like foil. i dont know what kind of material that was. i think on both the black and white jerseys, they should switch to that shiny material like what the heat has.

Speaking of black-on black, Eva Longoria had a black-on-black Spurs cap with a sandwich bill at one of the playoff games last year. Anyone know where I can get one (not living in SA)?

I have been looking for that cap since last year and only found it at Hatland.com. They sold out their inventory a few months back, but here is the link.

IIRC, alternate jerseys are only worn by home teams, so there goes the "black" on anything possibilities.

IIRC, alternate jerseys are only worn by home teams, so there goes the "black" on anything possibilities.
Alternates can be worn anywhere, home or road. Several teams have dark-colored alternates that they wear at home. In that case, the road team wears white. This happened on Christmas Day for the Spurs-Pistons game.

The Spurs wore the black-on-black retro jerseys several times in the NBA 50th Anniversary 1996-97 season, including some home games at the Alamodome. Perhaps they are now considered unlucky, given that they finished 20-62 that year. If I were Pop, I'd have an irrational fear that if they wore those jerseys, Tim would break his ankle and then throw his back out.

On the other hand, if form holds, the Spurs would win the lottery again and draft Greg Oden or something.
