I know many of you don't like Oprah, but today her guest is going to be Dave Chapelle and he is going to talk about why he walked away from his show. Just a heads up for those who might be interested.

Did he say he walked away because he did sketches that were "socially irresponsible"? I only caught bits and pieces on Entertainment Tonight. Or maybe it was Extra? I don't know, they're all the same.

I don't know if it was as apparent to me as to some of you...but he was under the slight influence of something...probably to calm his nerves...but it was pretty obvious...not sure if it was alcohol or weed...

due to the fact that he ran into decent writers when his show came out. His stand-up is bad. I wanted to like his show but he looked lost up there. I liked the skits but that's not him.
It's the writers.

no, he sucks and should die in a fire.

and just judging by your AV I can see I'm not going to make you realize this.

Well....I have seen his stand-up...and he's still damn funny...I can remember him back to Def Comedy Jam...and he was funny then...if you didn't find that show funny...then I can see why you wouldn't think he's funny...

P.S. My AV > Yours....

Night by Elie Weisel... it's a book about the Holocaust. I think it's the new book for her book club.

Man, I remember reading that book in 9th grade. I feel so smart now.

Well...he never really gave a straight answer...Oprah was trying to answer for him..and he would say...no...that's not really true...he basically said he didn't feel comfortable going to work anymore...like he dreaded going...so one day...without telling anyone...not even his family...he just took off...to get away from it all...kinda hard to explain...

Yes, I thought the same thing as I watched. Not only were his eyes dilated and glassy, but his speech was slightly slurred, too. Maybe a combo?
