View Full Version : Spurs won't catch Dallas for a while

HB22inSA

I just checked the Dallas schedule, and they are in the middle of playing 11 of 14 at home, and including tonight, will play 7 of 8 at home, including a 6-game home stand bridging the All-Star Break.

The Spurs could be down by as many as 2 or even 3 games going into the March 2 game.

Wow.

Yeah but the Mavs March schedule is not easy by any means... we'll pass them by the end of it.

HB22inSA

I believe the Spurs have a similiar stretch (7 of their last 10 at home in April) to end their season, so I'd say advantage Spurs--at the end.

Dallas is too deep to lose to any crappy team. If some players aren't performing they got a ton of bench players that make up for it. The only team that goes 12 men deep.

They love it because it inspires them to prove people wrong. Whatever Barkley says they can't do they seem to concentrate the most on. For example Barkley says they don't help each other on defense than all of a sudden there is a ton of help defense. Even Van Horn was helping out which made me laugh. :lol

The pistons rely on their starters too much. Dallas doesn't have to so there is less likely case of getting upsetted. Sure it happens but having a great bench makes it less likely to happen.

You know the Spurs totally fly under the radar for a while. They let someone else take the spotlight for a while (like the Mavs) and then steal it at the end. That's what they're doing right now. And, I don't care.

Sucks that the Spurs and Mavs are going to have to play eachother in the 2nd round instead of the WCF

That is why I do not like the new divisions. It used to be that the top team and 2nd best team (as far as record) always played everyone else until the conference finals.

The NBA needs to change the seeding, because the weaker division leader should not get the 3 seed over a better team in the toughest division. Everyone plays the same schedule in reg season except for maybe 2 games, so it makes sense that the top records should be seeded accordingly.

"Dallas is too deep to lose to any crappy team. If some players aren't performing they got a ton of bench players that make up for it. The only team that goes 12 men deep."

BS period, Spurs remain not only better (and will show it when it counts) but are deeper and in the playoffs which is an 8 man game, Pop will rely on experience and verve vs. "Keith Friggin Van Soft"

Don't believe the hype, Mavs are going to crash again. :smokin

The Mavs are like Spurslite. Look at the team they start: an offensively limited defensive center, at the 2 and 3 a defender and athletic slasher, a scoring point guard, and a star power forward. problem is:

Duncan > Dirk
Rasho > Diop
Bruce > Griffen
Manu > Howard
Parker > Terry

And on the bench I'll take Nazr over Dampier, Finley over Stackhouse, and Horry over Van Horn (at least in the playoffs). Barry and Beno aren't all that much behind Harris and Daniels either, if at all.

Across the board I just dont see them having the talent OR team concept to beat us in a series. Avery is an awesome coach too, we always knew he would be, but I'll trust pop not to get outcoached.

Buh bye. Spurs new division leaders....again.

The half-game is irrelevant; the 10 losses vs. the 11 losses is quite relevant. More than that, the 8th loss against the West is rather helpful -- even if the teams split the 2 games in SA, the Spurs are +4 in the loss column for the tiebreaker.

The Mavs have won 13 of 14 and haven't made up any games on a Spurs team that still seems to have it on cruise control at times.

there is no PERSONAL OPINION when the team who actually PLAYS THE GAME says it themselves!

Really... maybe you should right a book about that.

Maybe call it: "Popular Opinion: Real or Fake" by Fudgy McPacker

i'm more talking about the recent 7 game win streak where for the most part they are BARELY beating teams. you're so fucking dumb

Oh you mean the 4 games that were single digit wins compared to THE FOUR GAMES THAT WERE DOUBLE DIGIT?

That's 50/50, no majority there.

:lol :lol

the last 5 wins have been within 10 points most of them coming with the spurs having to pull thru in the LAST FIVE MINUTES OF THE GAME

The last five games? Are you including tonights 83-73 game? My math may be fuzzy but...

Why is it that everytime somebody disagrees with you, Buddy that they are automatically butt pirates, gay, flamers, fudge packers etc? Is inferring that others are homosexual really the worst thing you can do? Cus it certainly isn't the way to get your point across. In fact, quite the opposite. Once I see you start making gay references I basically just skip your posts, because it is juvenile at best and homophobic at worst. It really ruins what would have otherwise been a perfectly good (albeit WRONG) thread.

Just my 2 cents.

Alright the spurs are still the team to beat. It was proven tonight that the mavs can really struggle sometimes. Hopefully they forget about tonight quick and play like they did the last 13 games.

I like how you use all the terms I used tonight as your only examples.

I hardly if ever go there with people who disagree with me.

The only other person I insult that way is GiG, and that's simply because he is very much so, that. Seriously.

Is inferring that others are homosexual really the worst thing you can do?

Nope. Disproving them is much worst.

You know, like when they say "The Spurs have had the easiest schedule in the west."

Or "The Spurs are barely beating teams."

That kind of funny shit.

Just my 2 cents.

Can I give you two more pennies to leave?

yeah i think his "sarcasm dumbass" moronic response but uncalled for granted all i did was this " :rolleyes " and lowering himself to homophobe comments is even low for the internet

and yes for the 10000th time the spurs are BARELY beating teams they should be beating. look at the last 5 games and seriously please shut up. i would've let this go a long time ago but you just keep going. you have NO IDEA what you're talking about. so seriously, shut up

You are a damn liar. You have went there before plenty of times, just not as Buddy Holly. I have seen your near-epic arguments with posters over City of San Antonio-related stuff, and you made many trips to the gay well. Amuseddaysleeper may not realize you have a few other aliases, but others do.

Can I give you two more pennies to leave?

Why don't you save that money and buy yourself the proper equipment so that you don't have to take pictures of your television screen next time KSAT has a peice on Holly Hills.

If so, then I'm sure it will be very easy to prove. Go on... find some hard proof. :rolleyes

I'm shocked... no, really, I am.

What does equipment have to do with taking pictures of renderings WOAI had when those same renderings are nowhere on the Internet.

Maybe you should buy a better insult machine.

look at the last 5 games and seriously please shut up.

I assume McPacker means the previous four games sans last nights 10 point win against the Nets.

Yeah, you've won the war with those games. :rolleyes

4... seriously, four. Good job.

Look, Buddy. I was very civil and not looking for a fight. YOU went there. I am sure if I was a guy, right now I would be a fudge packer for simply pointing out that calling guys gay-related names does NOT prove your point, and only helps to make theirs seem right, since it isn't coming from a perceived homophobe. I am not going to search this forum all night for proof. You know what you do and say, and what you are saying is offensive and stupid.

You'll have to excuse Buddy.

He's still not over the fact that San Antonio will never be a "big-time" city like a Chicago or Dallas or Cleveland, etc.

(And I just love how this thread about the Spurs and Mavs was turned into a conversation about homophobic people.)
